where is the best place and worst place to bike
the worst for me is the south usa. and the best is up north..down here ive been hit by cars people throw stuff at me swerved into me to scare me

Come to Central Iowa! Lots of paved rail trails, friendly people and low crime. June is the best.

I find drivers in the South to be extremely friendly and accommodating. I can't imagine a better place to ride than outside my front door. Miles of beautiful roads with little traffic.

The best place would be anywhere with calm rolling hills and low traffic.
the worst place would be on a 6 lane highway with no shoulder...or any number of similar roads.

Florida (central) was the worst as far as roads/traffic. Flat, humid, crazy lost tourists.
New England is beautiful but those small rolling hill back roads can be super dangerous. Small streets in a lot of the older towns.
Where I live now in the mountains of the PNW, its amazeballs. Every corner is like whaaa?? And there are all kinds of roads and paths and trails for miles. Can be dangerous on some roads but most are wide enough and there is almost no traffic unless its a holiday .

I’ve ridden in a lot of of places that have surprised me. Arkansas ranked right up there with the best of them. I like much of the south as well. I didn’t necessarily like the hills but I never had a problem with traffic or people.

My favorite place to ride is anywhere between Milan and Barcelona along the Mediterranean. The scenery is amazing, the food is fantastic. My least favorite place to ride is here in Tokyo. Though the roads are safe and cars are careful, there is too much traffic, and too many traffic lights. I spend as much time stopped as I do riding, it's very hard to get a good workout, or maintain any kind of speed. However, I can get around more quickly on my bike than in my car.

Worst I've seen: south Florida: boring roads, no MTB or gravel to speak of, blind drivers, hot as hell in summer, endless strip malls, very few back roads.
Best I've seen: western Massachusetts: varied terrain, lots of tiny back roads, low traffic (if you know where to go), great cycling culture, tons of roadside stands for snacks, terrific for road, MTB, gravel and cross. not as insane as living in the Rockys.
I currently live in Chicago and it's actually quite passable. It's not Boulder but it's not bad.

Went to high school in western Mass. While I didn't ride back then, I have been back there twice for D2R2, which is a mostly dirt randonee ride that starts from the town where my high school is. I have also ridden through and through other places in western Mass. during tours home to Philly from New England. Great riding in that part of the world. Rode home from St. Albans, VT last year, making a stop at school for my 35th reunion. After leaving campus I hit Chester, MA and spent the night in a restored caboose originally built in 1917.

I live in West Los Angeles about three miles from the Ocean and Santa Monica. The weather is ideal year round. I can choose various routes to ride up and down the coast from Point Magu in Ventura County to the border of Long Beach and San Pedro transversing the Palos Verde Peninsula in the process. The view and sound of the ocean frequently the background. Or, I can ride in the hills or mountains of Malibu, Santa Monica, Bel Air, or Hollywood with beautiful quiet scenery and nice climbs. Drivers overall are bicycle friendly. I'm lucky.

I've driven through a few places and thought they would be great places to ride. Someday. Yet some of the best places I've been, although mainly on motorcycles, have been in my home state of Wisconsin. The bluffs, the people and the accommodations just feel right to me. I've only ever driven through parts of Colorado but it wouldn't take much to draw me back. West Virginia and Tennessee treated me like a prince and Kentucky, well, I've only really been through and to some of the stables there. Another place which seems to call me is Iowa. I don't know why but I want to spend more time there.
