First New Road Bike in Eight Years
I used to think I'd buy myself a new road bike every five years. Sometimes finances and other obligations made me forget about that desire. After eight years - on a very, very nice bike - I decided to upgrade everything.
"
I've also had a fixed gear bike for about four years. I like it a lot and don't plan to ever upgrade.

'92 Trek 930. Just getting back into it after some years off. This was the last bike I had. Never really rode it much after buying it used around 2003 because I had other bikes, but it simply fit me perfectly. So, I recently had it overhauled and it basically looks new. Took off the dry-rotted original knobbies and put some 1.75" gumwalls on for cruising around the area.

Really like this one. I've had a special spot in my heart for Raleigh bikes since the 70s.

For me it depends on the ride I'm going on and what i plan to do on it.
I have a 1980's SLX MIELE for my fast road rides.

For touring on the road I have a MIELE (Tange #5 tubing) that I use.
#04b Miele Uno L.S. Rebuilt 4 Touring - Added Bottle Mount, Canti-brake Studs & Bridge by Miele Man, on Flickr
For dirt/gravel roads touring I use this MTB MIELE converted to drop-bars.

I'm currently building up a SL MIELE (1980's) with all Dura Ace AX groupset for my relaxed road riding.
Edit. Then there's my MTB single-speed with 12" wide handlebar.

What do old guys ride? Hopefully, the bikes they build all winter. This is Project Patina, a '76 Fuji "The Finest" that I built at zero cost for frame and parts. I traded away a bunch of parts to amass the components needed for the build. The components did not match factory issue but they are indeed era Japanese parts.

It's a choice we all have to make sometime. The open road or on the beach.
