Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

What model bike stand is that?
Park PCS 1... has a self adjusting spring loaded clamp which I find very beneficial as I have a very bad back and it makes lifting and clamping frames in place very easy.

Am designing a new stand that will have built in lift so I can roll bikes up, clamp them, and then bring them up to working height with a ratcheting drive as I have to avoid lifting anything that is too heavy. Will be building one for my shop and one for the frame shop as my partner also has to watch how much he lifts and those tandems and long tails we build are awkward even if they are not that heavy.

Will also design it so it can be anchored to the floor and ceiling so that it is stable enough for jobs that require extra torque.

I work on a good number of Dutch style roadsters and these things weigh 40 plus pounds and my friend's Dutch bike has an electric assist and must weigh 80 pounds... I cannot (or should not) lift this bike into the stand by myself.

The PCs 1 is sturdy and stable enough to handle relatively heavy work and I am looking to get a collapsible stand for when I do house calls.

The new shop stand will probably use the same clamp as the PCS 1 as it has proven to be very durable and is very gentle... have to be very clear with our volunteers at the co-op that the park Professional stands we use need to be properly adjusted and used with care as it is not hard to damage a frame with one of these.

The cycling season is just getting started here and I expect to be fairly busy so need to have all my ducks in a row and am also always working on my own projects as there is always something to do. Am pretty happy with my bikes and don't need any more but do like to make modifications and improvements.

With bike rack standing in for a work stand, and an old refrigerator door that I used for storage:

The woodshop sees more use:

The only item that I could not locate was the foldout bed.

Bike stand. Bought a $12 halogen light from Lowe's and mounted it on the rafter for increased light in the work area. Also did the same for each of the dart boards.

Bench tools that make a mess.

The P90X area/kids dart area..

It's a damaged team rim (dent in braking surface) I hack sawed. I wanted to look at how the nipples and washers seated from the inside.

The entire point of the thread was to show our jerk around with bike crap spaces. Granted the thread title wasn't perhaps specific enough but everyone else seemed to get it.

This idiot thread is doing just fine and almost entirely devoid of any idiot posts (save one...). Frankly, I believe it's chances are fair to good (a chance at what I have no idea. If I figure it out maybe I'll come nail it to your door).

Now don't you have a thread of your own to tend to?

So what you're saying is that's where you jerk around while surfing porn?

If BF is so utterly pointless to you, yet you're still here...who, exactly, is the idiot?

We've been having bad storms lately. Tornado on Ft. Campbell today and the forecast for tonight calls for more of the same with large hail.

So I had to put the 4-door F-250 in the garage as well. All of the other crap is still in there. Took about 5 minutes.

My next stand will be either the Park PRS-20 or the Topeak Race Prep. I like that I can clamp in a bike without "traditionally safe" clamping areas, (namely my P2, which does not have a traditional "tube" seatpost) safely and securely.

From last year with 37" Pitbull Rockers.

Now sitting on 32" BFG All-Ts. It's a slow rebuild project that my dad gave me after it sat at his place for a year without being driven.
