No cycling for Machka today ... or tomorrow ...
It started to snow early Friday morning, and hasn't stopped since. Several inches of snow now lie all over the ground, and road, and everything else ... the world is white. It's not supposed to stop snowing until late Tuesday, I believe, so we could conceivably have a foot of snow by the time all is said and done. There are heavy snowfall warnings, winter storm warnings, and blizzard warnings going on all over the province.
In addition to the snow ... the temperature has been falling since Thursday evening. Even since earlier today the temperature has dropped and the wind has picked up. Right now we're sitting at -11C (12F) with a windchill factor of -21C (-6F).
Global warming indeed!!
If I'm lucky my next outdoor ride might be early May. It's not easy to train for early season brevets and other rides when your early season is covered in unseasonable snow.

Actually after all the winter cycling, today was a FTHU day. That means F the Hardening Up.

It's supposed to snow here today, it's damned cold. I can barely bring myself to ride a few blocks to the store...

If my mtn bike was working ... or if I had a bike with studded tires ... I might venture out too. But the cars are wading through it here, so I'm not taking Machak out in that.

Here's a pic of the road in front of my place today.

My dog is getting heat stroke in the driveway.

I might have to rethink my plans as the snow is starting to fall quite a bit harder... cold temps are nothing but the increased odds of slippage are a serious health concern.
Putting the f in f here.

I rode with my racing pal Don today in NJ. He opened his pool yesterday.
God, I love rubbing this in. I had to hear it all winter from those FL weenies.

You can keep that heat.
I run a good chance of spontaneously combusting at temps over 80F.

Actually, my dog Sam loves nothing more than romping around after a nice 10" snow storm : ).

low 70s and sunny today. did 38 miles of back road rollers. perfect.
i truly feel for those up north still dealing with the white devil. if we'd had anymore snow here in NH i would've lost my mind.

The wind chill here today was in the low 80's. It was brutal.
