any ECCC racers out there?
I noticed today that the big ECCC/ACCC showdown in Philly is not on the ACCC calendar this year. Anyone know why?

My impression was that it's a simple schedule conflict. But that's my inference, I don't have any authoritative information, or even a convincing conspiracy theory

I wonder if the rained-out disaster of a RR last year made it necessary to downsize ambitions? That would be unfortunate - the circuit race went off without a hitch, at least from the riding end. One of my favorite races all season. Makes me wish I were riding collegiate, so I could do that circuit again.

It was all at the park near the river in Philly then, and didn't have a road race. What a great event. Kinda sad they changed it in my opinion, but they seemed to want an RR instead of the circuit (which shared the majority of the course with the TTT anyways).
Don't know how the crit was this year, but back then it was around a perfectly rectangular square field. Man oh man, those were some scary-fast races.

Heck, in '07 they had USCF and collegiate events for most categories in all of the events (circuit/TTT/crit) including the circuit.

If they have USAC races (which actually sounds familiar, now that I think about it), it's still a bit of a drive. The only way I can see myself doing it is if my old collegiate team has room in the car for an extra body.

Alot of the Philly teams got new presidents, and most of them are inexperienced @ hosting races so they decided to keep it ECCC only. I don't know why they would deny more racers from making the trip, but I'm not running the show.
The Phoenixville RR was a mess for sure, this year is going back to the crit/circuit up in Fairmount Park (rectangle crit and circuit up/down West River).

That RR/downtown crit in Phoenixville was a disaster.

The phoenixville race was my favourite of the year by far. Also one of my better performances.

Which category did you race in? I did the D race (before the RR had to be abandoned for a crit) and was in the front group, definite top 10 and possible podium locked up - none of those kids could sprint - when some Penn State kid wiped out in front me and crashed me out. Remembering Phoenixville makes me grumpy.

Though you might have been in the group before mine.

What, you don't remember the jackass who attacked 3.5 miles into the race, during that first winding, hilly section? Yeah, that was me. I may have DNF'd, but I'm pretty tickled that I managed to detonate that race .

I was OTB right after the racing started. A guy crashed right at the start though.
I worked my way up and picked off a LOT of stragglers after the initial part. A lot of people just blew up.

I'm going to miss that race. It was pretty awesome...if you finished. I think my team is skipping Philly all together this year.

I sure am going to miss the ECCC. I'm hoping to get into grad school this fall, but I'll be in either the WCCC or SECCC.

I raced men's C all last year. UVA is a D1 school, so I did the D1 race and got to watch the Navy guy annihalate everybody after I got pulled on the penultimate lap. Great race!

Actually, I think I remember that race (Women A, non?). I think I remember someone with your kit doing rather conspicuously well, especially against The Unstoppable Machine, Anna Mcloon - 2nd group on the road, or were you in the first break? Anyway, I think Anna may have gotten a pro contract by now, she rode with Colavita on a provisional basis for a couple races last summer. She's a beast.
