Help id this frame - Motobecane or Peugeot?
I bought this bike for the parts (last generation super record). Now I am trying to figure out what this frame is. None of the components were original. Specs/info:
I think this is maybe a Peugeot P something. Mid - late 70s maybe. I thought it might be a Motobecane Grand Jubile or Record but the top of the seat stays look like a Peugeot. I think the Nervex pro lugs were only used on the Peugeot P series bikes before 78.
- appears powder coated
- Nervex Pro lugs
- Simplex dropouts
- 120mm rear spread
- 28.2mm seat tube OD (metric 531 I think)
- 26.4mm seat post
- braze on above the BB derailleur cable guides
- braze on shifter bosses (they don't look original, too clean)
- two sets of bottle cage mounts (probably not original)
- braze on top tube cable guides (original?)
- braze on rear derailleur cable guide
- no adjuster screws in dropouts
- riveted serial # plate on BB
- nutted brake mounts
