cycling computer + HRM
What cycling computer do you use that has a HRM with it? Is polar the best or is another one better?

Garmin. I don't know if it's any better than what Polar has to offer, but it's another choice.

I guess I forgot to say price is a limiter. I don't think I'll spend more than $150 on any computer and I"m only looking for speed, hrm and distance are the only things I need.

Polar CS200 if you don't want the cadence feature and the CS200CAD if you do....Personally I like the cadence feature for the trainer...Allows me to make sure I'm at the right RPM for the work I am doing...

Cateye + Polar low-end, so I can use the Polar when I go running as well. It's most probably the cheapest combo, and more flexible. You lose the "integrated" thing, but you gain the flexibility.

I could care less about running with it because after a 2 mile run my hips get so sore I can hardly walk for a week. 1+ on the wireless cadence with HRM I was looking for wireless cadence but couldn't find it. So how does it calculate cadence? Where do you put the sensor on the pedal?

The sensor goes on the downtube and the magnet on the crankarm...There is a bit of delay on the cadence pickup when you start pedalling and adjust pedal speed, but it gives you good overall feel for what is going on. THe best thing I like about the Polar is I will soon add a third bike and I've got sensors for all so all I need to do move the computer from bike to bike and I'm good to go. It also, has a multiple bike setting incase your bikes differ in wheel size.

What about hte website, does it account for each bike individually?

I got the sensors off of PBK for about $80Can total w/ free shipping....
Not sure about the other two questions since I don't upload my data to the Polar website. All I ever do is use BikeJournal to keep track of my ride mileage. There I can state what bike I was riding and it will update the odometer accordingly.

You might be able to get the garmin 305 for around 150 right now. The rebate just ended, but they might have another one soon. But you're obviously paying extra for the GPS. If you absolutely don't want GPS, then that's not the one for you. That's the only one I have though, so I can recommend it. I don't know about any others.

I had origionally been trying to decide between the flight deck and the Polar CS200cad. I decided on the polar, but now the garmin has me interested. Honestly, I think the GPS is cool, but I don't care about elevation change that much because it's flat where I live and I don't need to see that I only climbed 500 ft for a ride 
What I'm really going to base my decision on is the software. I want something that will track my progress, and help me train. both polar and garmin seem to have software to accomplish this, but I've seen very few comments or reviews of either.
does anyone care to comment on the software for each?
