Got a tattoo then road my fixied gear bike to get some vegan food and local craft beer, I'm a living breathing stereotype.
I also believe I figured out how to use pedal straps without hating them.

So that mountain biking this is much harder than I remember it as a kid. Singletrack is vastly different from anything I have done in a long long time. Had a blast but it kicked my ass. Though I do gotta say FS Crabon rides real nice and I wish I had been doing MTB much earlier on a more serious bike my old bike was basically an off road rigid hybrid and I did mostly double track and city commuting.

singletrack pummeled me into dust when i first started riding MTB for real. then i started to "get it" and i fought back.
imo its the best workout you can get on a bike, if thats what a person is looking out of a bike that is. otherwise, expect to work, even when youre not

I remember a charity ride where I rode for a while with two mountain bikers who had gotten into road bikes only recently. These guys were real awkward on the bikes, trying to muscle them down the road with their upper bodies. I worked with them a little bit as we rode, tried to get them to sit still on the saddle. The one big muscular guy just couldn't break the mountain bike upper body habit.
At one point I wanted to bridge to another group and tried to get them to paceline. They were like, "No way, we're not following anyone!" and jumped out of the saddle in favor of brute force.
It was fun to play with these guys. I'd dangle off their front and they would respond wildly and catch up, I'd surge a little again and they would jump up, pass me, rinse, repeat.

I remember a charity ride where I rode for a while with two mountain bikers who had gotten into road bikes only recently. These guys were real awkward on the skinny bikes, trying to muscle them down the road with their upper bodies. Really quite comical - two great big black guys and my skinny little white ass tucked in behind them as they flailed down the road.

its very different for sure, upper body plays a big role. im actually sitting down maybe 25% of the time, constantly moving around the bike

Today (yesterday) I did 1.5 hours of reckless slalom, berm shots, and wheelies.
Miles? Clueless.
Fast heart rate, heavy breathing, burning legs, brain felt 14, smiles.
Foot/ankle getting even better.

Today I posted on bike forums. Been a while. Also bought a new mess bag. Getting back in the saddle hurts my ass.
Also sold my Dolan Track Champion. Goodnight sweet prince.

What did you choose? I recently decided to replace this nightmare I use everyday and have been waiting eager and hungry for a bag from Hungary for almost two weeks.

That is what I am replacing. This bag I use was so uncomfortable that I literally made a thin pillow to shove between the liner and the outer layer. And the strap ratchet has never worked properly and now it is rusting. I got it during a half-price sale, so I have never been mad about it, though I cannot wait to get a replacement.
I've wanted a Mission Workshop bag... Though the price keeps me away. That is an enviable choice.

Their backpacks are the way to go these days. Word on the street is they're gradually rolling out comfort oriented changes. The 2.0 bags are the tip of the iceberg of what's in store.

It is a Citizen, which was a dumb choice for me to make to begin with because it is way too small, though: Half price for what I thought would be something that would last me years. Their backpacks seem like a good product. I wish I could I use a backpack, though it wouldn't work for me. I am one of those weird ones who the traditional messenger bag continues to be perfect for.

He was probably talking about my caad3. Which was sold complete to a coworker so I'll still get to see it.

Speaking of chrome bags and the above, the modest metropolis messenger trumps the barrage pro in transporting framesets on saddle.

We were doing "spring cleaning" at work and I found this old turntable which we had used at a trade show years ago. We would never use it again so they wanted to toss it.
When I saw it, I thought "that would be great for setting a bike on it and watching it slowly spin." But even as permissive as my wife is with my cycling habit, it could never go in our livingroom .
I gave it to my friends at my LBS.
They did an outstanding job with. They even converted the crate into a set of shelves. The owner tells me they have received quite a few compliments from clients.
It pleases me that it found a new home.

today everything with mission workshop turned out just fine. looks like they have some bugs in their shipping/ordering system, but they were cool about everything and came through

Sharp eye! I have been on the road so I haven't actually seen it in person. But I think it is one of those cow skull art things they make with a handlebar and an old saddle. They had one in the shop so it may have been pressed into service as a coat rack.
