Selle Italia Turbo Special Identification
Hi everyone. I was hoping to find a little more information on the Selle Italia Turbo Special saddle I have. It's a very nice saddle, pretty much new. BUT...there are no date codes stamps on the bottom of the saddle to confirm its authenticity. It looks legit to my eyes but I'm certainly no expert. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

The turbo was one of the most comfy saddles ever made. This one is an authentic model from the early mid 80's

had some "Rolls" influence there with the Gold Bling bits...not one of the many Turbo models I ever saw before (or owned) but there are some you might come across that were made under license from Selle Italia in Taiwan! They are "genuine" I guess but not Selle Italia (Royal might have been the contract maker of those)

I've read that counterfeiters have become very clever (mostly with high-end luxury goods like Hermes and Gucci) and sometimes, only the manufacturer can tell, It might be worth contacting Selle Italia directly. Of course, if they don't understand English, that could be a problem.

It's beautiful saddle. I'm sure it's genuine and not a modern fake as someone cautioned.
You can tell from the quality of the perforated cover which looks very much like the cover on my white perforated Turbo saddle that I bought in the second half of the 80's. The modern reissue of the Turbo and Concor saddles with the perforated cover have a noticeable difference in spacing and perforation size, compared to the ones from the 80's. The really nice way the perforations on this yellow turbo saddle kinda swirls around the contours is hard to duplicate. The quality of how the saddle cover was glued on to the plastic base 8s what you'd expect from a Turbo saddle from the 80's. I really wish I had a Turbo saddle like that so I can install it on my 84 Gitane Pro that I'm finishing my build on, hopefully, very soon......
