Taken on the Eastern Sierra Double by my bud Stefan. That's me in the photo, and yes, Oh! Ridge really is this beautiful!

You've GOT to do that ride someday. I have a place up in Mammoth ... come up next year and stay with me.
The ride support was really good. There were a lot of sag vehicles about, and plenty of food. The weather was just about perfect, too. Kinda eerie.
For me it was one hell of a weekend ... all kinds of ridiculous snafus starting Thursday afternoon and extending through this AM when I came to work with a pooped out computer. I'll write up a trip report with all of the sordid details tonight.

Same ride as Victor noted above, Eastern Sierra Double Century. This was taken in the morning, just before riding through Paradise, CA.
This is later in the ride, while riding around June lake on the appropriately named "June Lake Loop."
This shows Mono Lake in the background. We descend to Mono Lake for lunch in a park on the shore, then had to climb back up to Hwy 120 to start our climb to Sage Hen.
The Summit of Sage Hen, the last big climb.
The view from Sage Hen Summit.

Took this a week ago yesterday, (Memorial Day). Taken on Lake Elizabeth Road just before dropping down into Andrade Corner and the community of Lake Elizabeth. It has since burned in the Powerstation Fire, (in the mountains between Santa Clarita and the Antelope Valley). Not much smoke in the air this morning when I woke up, so maybe they've gotten a handle of the fire. I'm eager to ride out there over the weekend and put together a "before and after" set of images.
- - - - -
Update...
Went out this route over the weekend and this "scene" did not burn. The burn area is another mile or so west of this spot.

Me & my buddies dared to ride into the city a couple of weeks back and we sorta 'conquered' the highest twin towers this side of the world hehehe.
The Petronas Twin Towers, Kuala Lumpur City Centre, June 2013.

Can I play???
This was north of Memphis about 50 miles. The road was closed and it reminded me of that old Jim Stafford song, Swamp Witch Haddie!
The 2nd was just funny to me! This was in Iowa near Pella.

OK, here is a pic of yours truly during a 100+ mile ride this last Saturday.
Oh well, we don't have mountains or any of that beautiful scenery...just humidity, heat and wind Was 102 on the road when I finished with wind gusts of 25-30.
Location is the lighthouse in Port Isabel, TX and yes that is a chicken on my jersey!

This shows the "Midwest" section of my standard 61 mile ride (wife joined me for 50 miles).
There's also a coastal section, a redwood forest section, a small-town America section, and a river section.

Not a great photo, or great scenery, but I usually ride here to avoid the pickups. It's the "towpath" along the canal which sometimes carries the waters of the Pecos, when the Pecos has water in this stretch. The natural channel is about half a mile away...
