I don't think all song sparrows have a very distinct patch on their breast, since the patch is really just a confluence of the streak pattern.

Mud Lock

Here's a photo from last week's FANY ride. Taken on the morning of July 23, 2013.

It's the "Mud Lock" on the Cayuga Seneca Canal which connects Lakes Seneca and Cayuga (Finger Lakes) to the Erie Canal. The lakes are behind us and the Erie Canal is ahead of us.

For your pleasure, my photo albums of the week long, 481 mile, 25202 feet of climb, ride from Niagara Falls to Saratoga Springs are here.

Argh! Somebody stop me! I did another panorama. I paid attention this time, so it went together easier. I wanted to make it even longer, but my computer ran out of steam (and memory) so I had to stop. Remember, right-click -> view image, to see this monster full sized.

Would this change your mind? Lol.

Actually, the HooDoo course is quite scenic. The only problem is that some of the most scenic parts are done in the dead of night. The Hogback and Escalante are waaay cool.

A video to go along with the GMR ride.

*BTW, Strava put me at 59.7 max speed!

Garmin Connect got it right at about 42 but not no 59.7

Attended the Orange County Fair Friday Night. Spent the evening sitting in the "carney" area people watching. Just some random fair shots:

Saturday worked "open access" in Limestone Canyon. Instead of riding out to the Sinks (our station to patrol) we hiked. 10 miles round trip. I am crippled today! Next time, back on bikes; much easier. We did see alot of cool little things however:

Not certain if I am riding today... got to get the legs working first!

The views are fantastic, both of them.

I'm not a big fan of long straight roads, but the views could enough to distract me. I recall someone describing Forumites as being ADD. I think thats me when it comes to riding. I need something visual to keep me focused.

Nice pix of the fair, Pamestique! Love the sunset. The clouds were amazing Saturday.

I spent the day on Angeles Crest Highway. Beautiful flippin day. So clear, if you look close, you can see volosong down there ...
