Vic, was that on your commute home? I love the colors from the sunlight! Is there much of a tide change at that beach? We have a good bit of tide change on the East Coast, at least in the Carolina's. That much beach would be considered low tide on our beaches.

Yea, that's it! I have pretty much a dream commute. 90% of it is on a bike path on the beach away from cars, stop signs, and stop lights. And with views like that.

That's Manhattan Beach. I've been going there to surf or ride for 40 years and it hasn't changed much at all. There is a LOT of sand on the beach. It looks pretty much like that at low or high tide.

a quick shot from the Hilly Hundred ride near Bloomington, IN this last weekend. Had a fun time with RobbieTunes and some Peoria friends.

There's a thread on the C&V subforum with a bunch of photos....

I was out for a late evening ride earlier this week and caught sight of a BNSF train approaching just after I crossed some railroad tracks. The sight of the sun glinting off of the tracks made me pull out my camera and grab a few shots.... I hung around a little while to get a better look at the approaching train.

Pretty nice! You could try submitting that to one of the rail fan sites.

thanks for the compliment!
Out of curiosity, I did a quick search on Flickr for "Edelstein", which is the small town next to where this photo was taken. There are a few scenic spots near Edelstein that provide good photo prospects of the BNSF trains that frequently roll through. It wasn't surprising that I found a few shots that were quite similar to mine.
While my photo isn't unique, it's certainly a lesson to keep a decent camera with you when going out for a ride with photographic potential!

I dig this photo and can picture myself staying to the right to avoid the rocks at the top, barreling down the hill, braking early and trying to maintain traction while taking that turn at the bottom as fast as possible.

Makes me want to go ride gravel in the mountains right now.
