1974 Fuji Newest F&F
I bought this form the For Sale Forum, got it yesterday, harvested the components and plan to sell the frame and fork. Any input on a selling price? Plan to try here at BF first before trying outside venues like CF. Have not taken pictures yet, the earlier seller did a great job: FUJI For Sale Along with the F&F, it came with a set of Velocals decals and a Fuji padded saddle. I am unfamiliar with this bike type. The paint is stripped off, the underlying chrome looks nice if not really Oakland Roadster Show quality.

This is a quality machine but the lack of paint will hurt the value. It is not likely to appeal to someone who likes to fix up and ride old bikes for that reason. I think it's worth around $100 for the F&F.

If it's just a frame, fork & bottom bracket then $100 would be reasonable. (It would go a lot quicker for $75).

Thanks for the replies. Well, a wee bit less that I was hoping for, but not dramatically. I think I should try polishing up a bit first and see if it looks more attractive.

It's hard to remember at this point. The buyer told be there was internal rust, which I did not check during the couple of days I had it. I refunded his money immediately on PayPal, he was cool about it and gave half of that back to me. Overall, not my best transaction. I will buy stuff, I will give away stuff, but am disinclined to sell anything again.

Don’t sell it
I have a 72 Newest and was out on it today. It is probably my favorite riding bike in my small fleet. I hope you are building it to ride and not sell. We will need some pics then too. Do some in depth research on these and enjoy.

Internal rust? Almost every old steel bike has some internal rust. But it doesn't mean jack, and they will all still last for 200 years after we all die.

This is just the kind of information I’ve been searching for! I have high hopes for this one because it’s actually in my size, and the quality of craftsmanship is fantastic. As far as I understand, this bike was one of Japan’s first attempts at entering the international market with a high-end product.
I think with a few more comments I’ll be able to post pictures.

Anyone in construction has seen rebar straight from the mill, which has no rust. It quickly forms a thin layer on the surface, but then you can store it outside for months and months without any further issues.
If you own a steel-framed bike and want to protect it further, go ahead and use Frame Saver or Boeshield on it. But if you don't, don't assume it will eventually rust out from the inside. Not likely.

All of the Fuji frames I have seen from the 70's early 80's were really good.
