Thanks for sharing that. I owned a 480 and ended up selling it to a college kid who fell in love with it. It was a great bike and I wish I was able to hold onto it.

I have this '87 hanging over my work bench. I'm not wild about the color but the paint and decals are almost perfect so I can live with it. When I finally get around to it it's probably getting Shimano RSX 3 X 7 with indexed Shimano barcons and hammer finish aluminum fenders.

I purchase a used Technium 460 (the grey one with pink head tube). Great bike, and I was too naive back in the day when I bought to really appreciate the history.

That's my bike!!!
I bought it used in either '88 or '89 when I was in middle school. Used it for a century as a teenager. One of my co-workers was a burgeoning triathlete who borrowed it a couple of times. Afterwords he wanted me to trade it to him for his new Cannondale.
I can't bring myself to ride it now. It spent too many years in a shed in northcentral IN, exposed to massive temp changes. I just don't trust that epoxy after that.

I've been riding an old Technium 460 (that I bought used) for about 10 years. It's my daily exercise grocery getter all around bike. Probably put at least five or ten thousand miles on it. RIdes nice. My only complaint is that it's a little noisy. Depending on the humidity it seems to creak a little sometimes. But, it's pretty lightweight. And, the original Araya alloy wheels roll super smooth.
