I assume they think that pretty much everyone that wants a vaccine will have had their tranch + 2-3 weeks for effectiveness.
I'm assuming that if you've paid up for the 2020 event, it'll be good for this one. I haven't had time to investigate the details, but that was the last I'd heard.

Really don't see this being turned around in that time frame, even with the numbers going down drastically, we have as many people in the hospital as we ever have had.And we have pretty good numbers here in Oregon to begin with. None of the vaccines will save you from all scenarios depending on far too many unknowns, they are still grasping at far too many straws on this.

Well that's not going to work. Assuming that it happens, which is a big IF for both, that would be the same weekend as Cino. And there's no doubt that if I have to make a choice Cino wins hands down, it's not even a contest.
It's not that big a loss though, I've really been thinking about giving up on Eroica. I love the event and have been to every edition but I absolutely despise the new location and routes.

mixed with the generally lowish traffic in the region, you could do a lot worse. you want some different combo of more dirt, length,
elevation or backroads?
sure, i prefer the greenery and flowers of spring vs the straw colored panoramas of late summer/early fall as likely most do.
it's a tuff time to be traveling cross-country to ride a bike for a few days. hopefully, we'll be more able to pull it off here in the
later part of 2021.

Sept. will look different than Feb. but there are still some serious unknowns in terms of new Covid variants. We will get back eventually to a new normal but it is quite possibly won't look like the pre-pandemic normal and it may not happen anywhere near as quickly as we might like.

No big surprise, surely. Have been waiting for this announcement.
As long as we are assuming, will also assume that Thunder Ridge in May will be canceled or rescheduled.
At my age, will be receiving vaccine #1 this week and the second shot in early March.
Nobody knows yet how much protection this will afford against one or more variations of the virus.
So, we shall see.
Truth is, however, I really miss riding with you folks.

The 11th-12th would be the traditional Cino dates, but I have some thoughts on that. I’ve contemplated doing it the weekend before Labor Day to save my sanity in the run-up to the new school year. If Cino happens this year it would be quite different than ever before (thanks Covid), so changing the date wouldn’t be so radical.

Reorganized the first post with powdercoaters by state rather than alphabetically, found a cool online tool to indicate which states have a bicycle powder coater listed so we can see where we have holes in our data easily. Some larger states should have listings further broken down (SoCal vs NorCal as an example), the idea is to post powdercoaters that aren't too far away from most of our C&V forum members. The southeast US isn't represented as of the time I'm typing this, for example.
