I bought this bike yesterday. I'm trying to figure out the model, the year, but nothing. I know there are a lot of "specialists" on this forum. The involvement of some has become known in the online environment. Any details? Thanks,

It's a nice Italian builder. Look up Luigi Montagner from Passarella. He made frames for at least a couple of cycling teams and some big names. It's a killer piece if you can get your hands on it.

Edit, slightly more info I just found: VeloBase.com - View Brand

The pictures aren't great for frame details but this frame looks circa 1974-1977 and possibly even mid-range. That's older than any Montagner that I've ever seen. The components are an eclectic mix. It doesn't present well with the chain not installed, the rear QR not properly closed and the ratty bar tape. Montagner built a bit of a reputation in the USA in the very late 1980s after Wm. Lewis started importing his frames but according to one of the most resected BF members who spent a lot of time in Italy, he was never highly regarded in his home region. Then again, he was only about 25 km from Pinarello and Scapin.

Please properly seat the rear wheel in the dropout. You're going to rub the chainstay raw.

It looks like "168" is stamped into the BB shell. Could be a partial on the serial#.

Link to eBay isn't working for me. What's the item number from the auction?

What about some shots of the fork crown and seat stay caps?

I can't seem to find any information on "Euromat" bikes from your eBay link, but its seat tube sticker is for a shop in Ferrara, Italy (owned by Giancarlo Marchi, on Via Saraceno, #56) which is now a bike rental storefront? The fact the eBay bike uses cheap foil decals leads me to believe it may've been a shop brand for Giancarlo. I'll be honest, that eBay seller isn't one of my favorites. Always overpriced.

Luigi Montagner was in Passarella, Giancarlo Marchi's shop was in Ferrara, which is on the other side of Venice, not more than a 90 minute drive away. Not knowing Montagner or his brand well enough, and seeing that off-brand eBay bike carrying similar details tied to Marchi's shop, it leaves me to wonder where Marchi sourced his shop's frames. Could it have been Montagner, who was on the outskirts of nearby Venice? Not my place to answer but some sleuthing in Italian with their names may produce results.

I definitely have my questions about yours. With the two pics you posted early, I missed the flat-top fork crown with no logo,, and I thought there was the expected "MONTAGNER" on the seat stays but I can't tell if it's the case. If it is an authentic Montagner, it may've been an entry-level model. There's at least one other auction (w/o pics) of someone selling a Montagner with Gipiemme dropouts like yours out of Romania, but w/o pics we can't confirm any details. There is one place to look and compare online, here: https://www.flickr.com/groups/montagner/pool/

I don't see any of the bikes in that group with the diamond BB shell cutout, that's pretty unique. This is one of those threads where you may want to re-create it over in the regular C&V forum versus this appraisals forum. You may get more info, and find someone who recognizes the diamond cutout.

I have a Montagner, with the 1986 Worlds sticker on it. so mine must be a 1987, built with ORIA tubing. The Builder was Luigi Montagner, made in Italy. I have my frameset to show off to see if other know more about it

I would agree with T-Mar that it is a mid level 1970's bike. Note the long brake reach indicating the frame was likely made to accept either 27in or 700c wheels and the lack of braze on's for shifters cables or bottle cages.
