I'll be that barbarian... Mostly because i can't click through to see for myself.

What unique attribute or collection of attributes makes this build potentially worth $7,500?

This post gives some reference. Wizard was a short-lived operation started by two people who went on to do (other) great things.

Diamond in the rough! (OK, maybe Cubic Zirconia in the rough...) My old bike from the ‘70s. Columbus double butted frame with Campagnolo dropouts front and rear, chrome (rusty) lugs. Some good components, some crappy ones. Campy derailleurs and shifters (record F, gran turismo R), Campy hubs, sew-up Nisi rims. Somewhat valuable Stronglight crankset. The rest isn’t worth describing. Use this frame to make a nice vintage road bike. Sell the crankset to pay for a lot of it. Been in dry storage for decades, don’t know why it got this surface rust. "

Frame seems earlier than the 70s. That is a cool buy for someone on LI...

In short, Brian Baylis and Mike Howard project after they left Masi and before Medici/Baylis bikes. Maybe 80 or so were built.

This blasphemer! Yuh, dis bike was the Trunxseltoon errand bike!

It's Trexlertown. I'd cut 'em some slack if they couldn't spell Bryn Mawr, Bala Cynwyd, or Pen Argyl, but that one's basically phonetic.

The velodrome was clearing their stock of these at the swap maybe 7-8 years ago, maybe earlier. Mostly frames. I think they were selling for more than $200 at the time, but that was during the fixie craze.

Thanks for trying for me! I don't get upset about this, it's part of the pass around game I guess. My goal is just to save bikes from being trashed and keep the ones worth riding out on the road (or trail). I don't do it for a living

Hah, I wondered if it was a flip of one I saw on Richmond CL about a month ago that I contemplated but decided against because I wanted horizontal dropouts.

I am not sure if this should be in the wacky thread because of the pricing or not.....Anyway, a Bianchi Argetin that looks very clean.

Richmond has 3 or 4 serious flippers. One of them is the guy I got the wheels for you from. One operation has a big warehouse downtown loaded with bikes. Kinda of a low key Pros Closet. The one that bought the Miyata is easy to spot. His bikes are stored in a self storage. He pulls them out and takes the ad pics in the self storage hallway. When you see a pic with the background like the Miyata, you'll know it's that person. Another's location when you look at the area map is right off of Janke Road. He also stores his in a self storage/container, but takes his pics outside. The flipper that I got the wheelsets from takes his pics with the bike up against a white pickup. Mechanicsville is in his heading. The bikes you see listed from Chesapeake/Great Bridge is probably Norfolk/Va Beach's biggest flipper. If you go there to look at a bike on the weekend, they'll have around 50 bikes in the driveway displayed for sale just like a car lot.

If you look close enough and see the patterns/similarities in the postings, most of/a large percentage of the listing on the Richmond CL are flipper bikes.

Ahh, white pickup guy. Didn't realize I'd bought from him before! I emailed self-storage guy recently about an RB-2 and he was responsive and helpful but I ended up not going to look in person. I will say they're all a little annoying with how often they flood the list day after day with their bikes, but at least their prices aren't crazy.

It looks like there are some new flippers in the Richmond Va area competing with the old guard. If you look at the first page of listings, maybe 15-20 of the 120 listings are not from the flippers. The ones that aren't will probably be acquired by the flippers and relisted at a later date. Serious bidness!

Here's one to watch. See if it pops up at at a later date from one of the sellers with lots of listings.

How's it going? You doing OK? It's been a crazy last year. Went and got my son from VCU yesterday afternoon. His roommate had been quarantined because of possible Rona. The roomie tested negative yesterday and will be back in the room today. He and my son thought it best to give him another 4-5 days of isolation. The schools are all closed in the area today anyway. I'll take him back on Sunday or Monday.
