1981 Carlton Branded Super Course 63cm CTT - Free You Pick Up

San Francisco Bay Area. Specifically South Bay.

I bought a bike for Parts and I don't need the frame.

What we have is a 1981 Calrton Super Course.

To my best understanding (at Free, please don't hold me responsible for any bad research):

This is all 531 C DB Frame and fork (See sticker remnants, I also saw one on line where it was stated 531C, but I'm not sure. The weight does line up with all tubes at least 531 DB).
63 cm ST CTT
58cm TT CTC
Frame (as pictured with a couple small things still attached) 4.96 pounds
Fork + Frame 6.52 pounds.
Vitus Drop Outs

I didn't see any rust besides surface rust In general the paint is really good except for where it has been scraped/scratched (vs. all over having problems).

Of course, English Threaded.

It had a 27.2 seatpost. It fit smoothly, so I believe it was the proper post.

Again, prefer local pick up at this price. If nobody local wants it, I will ship it and received will pay shipping (or offer up something in trade).

Has been a long time since I lived in Los Gatos.
It would fit nicely, too.
For that nice a frameset, at least ask for SOMETHING in trade.

@Wildwood I bought the bike for parts and told the seller that I was only willing to pay what I thought the parts were worth. To make the negotiation clean, when he asked "What are you going to do with the frame?" I told him give it away. So I am. And I believe this is the right place to find it a new home. If someone did offer me something in return, I wouldn't turn it down if I needed it. But I didn't want to get to a point that it didn't get to a good home because of a trade.

The rest of the story is in my Carleton post from Friday. I knew it had a bunch of Campy on it, but the photo's were NDS so I didn't have the details. I got there and I found a Rally derailleur, which I was already looking on Ebay for, as part of the haul. So there is some pass along the good fortune in this.

@Xiaoman. I figured it was a price that I wouldn't have to spend a lot of time in negotiation. I agree, it is a nice bike. I thought I might be able to ride it a bit before I stripped it. The height combined with the 27 x 1 1/4 tires created a situation where I wasn't a happy camper straddling the bike. So I didn't even get a chance to check it out.

There is a member here who frequently volunteers at a coop near you and posts here, and his location is also listed as Saratoga. I cannot recall who it is at the moment...

Thanks @noobinsf. I think he volunteers at the Silicon Valley Bike Exchange. I started volunteering there (I went once) right before COVID. THat's a great idea.l. I'll keep it in mind if there is no local interest in the frame.
