What's fair price?
I have been thinking about trying a titanium bike. Any idea what is a fair price ? Came up some what locally. He claims about 1500 miles on it , Ultegra , thanks in advance

Hard to tell how old it is. But, with the threadless headset & brifters, flat blade spokes, high profile rims, & Ultegra drivetrain it looks less than 15 years old. (So, it's really not quite a classic vintage bike yet). Titanium & Ultegra = real good stuff. If it was mine I would be thinking somewhere between $.75K and $1.5K. Be good. Have fun.

I would say it's a bit older circa 1998 I believe this was the last year they used the smaller fork and has had some components changed nicely done and matching changes still a very solid bike. I Would say $900 give or take cash local sale.

Agree.
I had that exact same frame/group. Most comfortable bike I've ever ridden and fit me great. For me, it was too flexy and didn't tranfer power. I only owned it a couple of weeks because I noticed that the rear triangle was out of alignment, so maybe check that before you buy. May have been an issue in that era. Since I bought new, I was able to get a complete refund.

What is he asking? That is a nice bike and that frame will last you a lifetime. All you would need to do is change the wheels and groupset if you want the latest and greatest.

FWIW, I sold this locally for $1,000 this summer. Full Dura Ace and sweet wheels. Saddle is even $120 used on eBay. Bottom line, I knew I wasn’t going to get the sum of the parts and understood the value of not having to deal with parting out, shipping, fees, etc. Odds are the seller will still own OP’s subject bike a month from now so check back in with your $1,000 cash in hand.

I would pas also maybe a bit nit picky but for this level bike I hate the green saddle and poorly done barf tape on the bars. Might just be me but if I'm buying or selling a bike in the $1000 price range I want everything to be right.
