Handlebar recommendations for clip-ons?

I'm looking to get a new road handlebar. I use clip-on aero bars, so it needs to be aluminum (31.8). I'd like to get one that has a longer straight top section (with the bend to the hood area being sharper/shorter when looking from above) to allow for more room for my hands when on the tops. Nearly all the photos at online shops are from the side or front, so there's no way of telling from that. Any suggestions?

Why do the bars need to be aluminum?

I thought you're not supposed to clamp aero bars on carbon? Even if that is OK, I don't really want carbon. (I have a habit of breaking things easily!) Also, the clamp area must be wide enough for the clip-ons (without the ovalized tops).

I use 38cm Salsa Cowbell Bars with clip on aerobars. However using the tops is not really possible. There isn't enough bar left not blocked by the armrests. If you use a 40cm or wider width, it would work.

To get an idea of what's available, search Amazon for Aero Bars for Cycling, or similar wording. They start at around $25. Some/most have the pads attached to the aero bar rather than to the main handlebar. Those give you more room for your hands on the straight portion of the bar.

I have at least four different aero bars on my various bikes. All, including the cheapest, work fine.

If space on the tops for your hands is an issue, you might consider flip-up elbow pads. These were pretty popular among the "road bikers who also wanted aero clip ons" crowd:
