h plus son or velocity b43

so I'm probably gonna pick up a super deep rim for my back wheel, but I've always wondered the difference between h plus son's rims and the velocity b43... so what's the difference?

Well b43's are a line of triple walled rims by velocity while H plus son is a company that makes a line of rims.....

H Plus Son is a small startup, I got a pair of matte black Formation Face rims because I want to support Tsuzing (the owner). He's a really nice guy!

If you're going to call someone names at least back it up! What happened?

I was going to add to my post, formation face are the only rims that have a perfectly flat non machined sidewall. I think they look fantastic. They're also a bit lighter than the rest as a result.

I'm curious as to how you came to this conclusion. I have had zero dealings with H+, so yeah, I am really just curious.

Fair enough. If its that long a story, I will respectfully decline. But you seem to have your reasons.

I second that posting here is a good idea, that way you're letting people who read this know what's up.

From what I understand, a fixed gear freestyler cracked one rim jumping off some stairs. They then split it open and photoshopped a taco inside.

I got HPLus Matt Black color for rear.
From Handspun, laced to hollow axle 32h All City Hub.
Unfortunatley they didnt have the Formation face.
https://handspunwheels.com/products/view_product/1639/

Im surpised by how light it is,
It seems like it weighs just slighty less than 32h 30mm DP18 rear.
Have both but dont have a Digital scale to confirm.
Yeah still boat anchors,
but its these boat anchors that have given me some pretty sweet legs!!

this is what I was talking about, h+ son rim split:
https://cozybeehive.blogspot.com/2008...-in-japan.html

apparently that was the only rim failure that has ever occurred with h+son, but that rim split when it was only 2 weeks old. he was skidding, not doing tricks... that's kind of concerning. anyhow, I think the best choice for me would probably be the velocity b43, it's heavier but it seems like a really nice quality rim for a good price, it's only about 60 bucks at a local shop.

No way a rim splits open from skidding.

I'm not gonna post up here, cause it doesn't have anything to do with his products, or any business dealing or anything like that. just some philosophical differences. so again, if you want to know, you can PM me. If not, pretty sure no harm will come of it.

h plus son lighter but more expensive than b43. if you dont care about weight, go for b43.
