Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

I was going to say, "I hope that I'm still alive at 100 years!" but I don't know that I really wish for that, to be honest...

You know who wants to live to be 100?

The 99 year old guy.

There are plenty of people here that probably can't do that (but are stilll wondering what carbon clinchers they should buy).

it's awesome this guy is still riding at a reasonable pace at 100.

However, it's only 15mph. I would hope more than 50% of people in the road forum could cover 16 flat miles in an hour.

I would hope so too, but I wouldn't bet on it.

He is doing it while holding his HR under 110. I'd go nuts if I had to hold my pulse that low.

Besides, what if it turns out that you weren't so delusional after all? You gotta try.

holy crap. good for him.

yeah but his max HR is probably like 120, so that would be like me riding for an hour at >180. ouch.

oh wait, just read the rest of it. he hit 134 on a climb? well even if his max is 140, 110 is still somewhere in the high endurance/low tempo range. not bad.
