Not all Cervelo bikes were created equal! I ride the RS and it is by far the most comfortable frame I have ever been on. The S series bikes were created more for straight line speed where as the R series are more of a climbers / comfort bikes, especially with the super slim seat stays. The RS features slightly longer seat stays that are curved allowing for extra flex and comfort. I've ridden centuries on my RS and never felt beat up and I'm still amazed by how it soaks up all the bumps every time I ride.

OP, go to a professional bike fitter. A good fit can cure most numbness issues. It could be your S2 fit that makes you locking up your arms thus placing concentrated stress on your hands.

S2 is a nice bike. More comfy than my CAAD9 IMO.

I ride on chip-seal roads, too, and my S2 is very comfortable for long rides. I ride the largest frame size so that may be a contributing factor.

I don't like the SRAM/FSA stuff, but that's another story.

LBS will sale whatever specially now a days so doesnt surprise me the OP said "i like this!".... ok there you have the fastest and comfortable bike in the market and it wasnt. The other factor is that something harsh and comfortable is just a point of view.

Clearly there is fit issues, w/o seeing the guy is hard to know what is going on (pictures?). The allez (too many allez, which one?) and a S2 are totally different bikes

As cad implied about the hybrid... if he was looking for the ride of a hybrid by buying a racing bike then he looked in the wrong place. Now to fix it guys are telling him to put tractor tires in a Porsche just because the ride is not as smooth as a cadillac.

25cs are not tractor tire. Not by a long stretch. They're still fast - some testing suggest that in some situations, they're faster than 23cs.

hey, OP...no one has asked the obvious, but just checking, are your Allez and S2 set up the same way (saddle height, bar drop, etc) - your hands should not be going numb on the S2 if it's set up the same way as the Allez...did you get a bike fit done when getting the S2? if so, go back and tell them of your issue and they should address it...if not, it would be a good investment (better than selling the bike!) the S2 is not a comfort bike, but it should not be making your hands numb, or prevent you from riding from hours...

I prefer to describe the ride of my S2 as "connected to the road" I will say the stock wheels transmit more road buzz than my light race wheels.

I have a S2 and a CAAD10. The S2 is more stiff ("harsh" isn't really the right word) than the CAAD but just a comfortable on any length ride. That being said they are two very different handling/feeling bikes - as they should be.

Sounds like a fit and comparing apples to oranges (Allez to S2) issue to me. The Allez has much more 'relaxed' geometry and is more of an 'all around' frame, whereas the S2 is a race bike, pure and simple.

Just put on the conti 4000s 23s about a month ago and what a huge difference.I think your rig is fantastic and i would not sell that bike ever.
