Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

My strategy varies by intersection, but on some of them I stop on the far right, maybe even short of the line, so any driver anxious to make a right turn can go around me.

Ms looked like they might have a chance to come back from a 2 run deficit. Bases loaded in the bottom of the 9th. Our guy took it all the way to a full count then struck out looking. Sad outcome but awesome game!!!

I don't like people going around me. My default is the left side of the right lane.

I can't remember the last time that food made me poop. Along those lines, I can't decide if that means that I have an cast iron stomach or if it means that I haven't been expanding my horizons enough.

Man, I haven't been to a BK in more than a decade. A couple visits to BKs on the NJ Turnpike turned me off for good, but even before then I would have rather gone to McD's for anything breakfast (which is about the only time that I'll go to McD's).

Same. Plus, they get very confused as to whether they should pass or not. Then they start yelling at you, which means even more cussing in front of their fiance. You best not yell back, because that may entail cussing in front of the moron's fiance, and that's apparently quite bad, in moron-land.

Wendy's is going breakfast next month, and I may just try it, simply because Wendy's is a blast on Twitter.

Why not? There's a danger if someone tries to make a right turn just as the light turns green, when you're just starting out. But for whatever reason, the places I do this it's usually not a problem, I guess because if the car was impatient to turn he would have already done so.

Here's an example. I stop short of the line. Sometimes drivers go ahead with right turns, sometimes they don't. But generally there's no trouble.

Now on this intersection I do go to the left side of the lane, because there's kind of a turning lane which I don't want to block. It all depends on how traffic behaves.

Because I have the lane and I'm going straight. If someone wants to turn right, I'll give them the opportunity to do so, staying behind and to the right, and without violating my right of way by going around and hooking in front of me. Also, with some vehicles, the rear tires cut a little tighter path than the front, which can cause a squeeze if the driver doesn't know what they're doing. This is more problematic with big vehicles and, in my experience, people in big vehicles rarely know how to drive the damn things.
