I think I'll be upgrading to a BMC. . .
Hey guys, I've always read a lot of these threads, but never posted - this is my first.
I currently ride a pretty ****ty Giant OCR3, and it's age is starting to show. So I've been ebaying for a while (highly addictive) and I think I've found the one. So CHECK IT OUT and give me an honest opinion . . .
What would you say not to bid over? I talked with the seller and I guess he just got older, had kids recently and just never had time to ride it, so he hasn't really touched it since 2010. Plus the listing title has a typo, so it doesn't come up when you search "BMC Pro Machine". I'm hoping this will just fly under the radar and I can get a steal on this bike.
Anyways, tell me what you think/advise. I've always heard amazing things about BMCs. Plus, this one's got plasma handlebars that look sick. Thanks all.

Appears to be well used and somewhat dirty. Pass....

Handlebars have a crack, cassette & chain looks pretty worn, wheels look pretty chipped though there are no good pics of them, bike doesn't look like the owner bothered much to keep it clean/maintained, not even for the pictures to sell it, and 4 years old. I'd be concerned about inheriting problems.

Definitely not the "9 out of 10" the seller is saying...that said, I'd still give him $800 sight unseen if you have a pretty good knowledge of fixing bikes.
I'd probably pass and wait for something better. How much are you looking to spend? You can probably find a deal on some '12 closeouts this time of year.

Something else to consider, all of this ebayer's feedback comes by way of being a buyer. This is his first auction as a seller. Couple that with a no return policy and I'd pass.

I'd have to go with everyone else on this one and say pass on it. It seems pretty dirty and not maintained well and you could very well find more problems after paying God knows what for shipping.
Save yourself the hassle and scour the ads on your local craigslist if you want a used bike. You can usually find the same deal (seller not getting use, etc) and you will have a chance to see it in person, ride it and save on shipping. That's my opinion at least

The seller would have done himself a favor by cleaning the bike up before taking the photos. I have riden the hellout of my 2004 it looks like a new bike compared to this BMC.

BMCs are terrific bikes, but I wouldn't buy THAT one (the one the Op linked to on eBay), it's pretty beat. Run away fron THAT one. Check out Competitive Cyclist and watch their sales. They often have some smoking deals on full bike builds, particularly on the RoadRacer or StreetRacer models.

If I'm selling something, the pictures are clear and well lit so the potential buyer can plainly see what is for sale. That's just simple common sense. Taking pictures of the item for sale at night in the dark is the opposite of that.
