Shimano square taper UN bottom brackets

I havent bought one of these in a long time. Looks like they arent as easy to get as just a couple years ago. Is shimano still making the UN26 or the even better UN55s or is this just a bike parts shortage problem .....
It would be hard to believe they would make them less available on purpose. Maybe its just a supply/demand issue. Might be time to see if my local coop has any laying around. Most of those shops have cut used inventory of almost everything if they have not gone completely out of business.

They have both been replaced about two years ago with the UN300 and UN100. The UN300 seems to be slightly better than the UN26 but slightly less high-end than the UN55.
So all the remaining UN55 bottom brackets are leftover stock.

You also might find a UN 54 NOS. It's a 55 with a plastic NDS cup

I bought a UN300 for my spares bin a couple months ago. The quality is fine, and the bearings turn nicely in my fingers. No reason to hunt down old-stock UN54/55 in my opinion.
