There is no performance benefit to cleaning tires. Glass or rocks embedded in the tire won’t fall out from a cursory wipedown, and grime won’t affect how the tire works. If you like ran over an oil puddle, continuing to ride will “clean” the surface in contact with the road just fine.

it’s purely for looks.
