Trek trekking??

Hello, I was wondering if any had some info on this bike like the year and if it seems original? I can’t find any photos of one online that has Trekking on it. Is it a 720 commuter but with trekking on the bar? Thanks for any help.

Sure looks like someone slapped a "Trekking" sticker on to a Trek 720 Multitrack. The bars were probably installed by the previous owner. Still a good bike if you're going to use it for commuting.

What would be a good price for something like that? I was thinking to use it to commute and use with a surfboard rack.

I got one years ago for my return to school in the blue/green fade for about $200. It was a good commuter but someone needed it more than me and stole it while I was in class one day.

Condition of the bike and your location will dictate the price. Bike-friendly and hipster-y locations like SF and Portland tend to fetch higher prices, maybe $100-$200.

Personally, I wouldn't pay anything over $100 for any hybrid, but that's just me since I'm pretty cheap.

Huh. Never heard of that model, and now I see another one listed locally on CL. Seller says model was 1995 only. Almost identically equipped.

super cool, this one seems like it’s in good shape. It’s so odd it was only offered for one year

According to vintage Trek the 720 was offered in 1999 and the 750 in 1995

the guy wants $350 for it and I think it sold new for $450. Might not be worth it but I like the idea of it only being offered for a short time

Comparable new bike is $5-600 without rack fenders and lights. Also looks like a rear wheel lock on it.

Nice all around utility bike if everything is in good works nicely including extras rack fenders and lights I could see $200 as fair price. If you brought a basic 720 you would pay $150 and the rack and fenders would cost you $100 so this may actually be a pretty good deal if it's your size and the type bike you want.

If it was a '99 it would look more like this:

Most likely it's a 95. Trek used the logo of the bike you're wondering about up until 96.
