Excuse the watermarks I don't particularly value paying $40 for a picture from the track picture crooks
If track time at those tracks is anything like motorcycles, forty bux is a drop in the hat. Those are some good pics.

I paid for a picture once, thats it -- pictures are just for show. After you've done a lot of track time, pictures are just something you look at the next day, no big deal. Laptimes are where the bragging rights are not sure how much motorcycle days are. Buttonwillow is usually $99. Thill is usually $140, and Laguna is usually $180-200.

Cool!
I like to pan fish, mostly for bluegill, redear and crappie. I want to get the state record for bluegill someday.
I also have just taken up mathematics. I was an english/literature major in college and always thought I missed out on the analytical qualities of mathematics. Now, 15 years later I have taught myself algebra, trigonometry, geometry, statistics and calculus in my spare time.
I also like housboating. The family has a 52 foot Harbor Master that gets quite the use during the summer.

Not even close. Certain types of car racing is up there (even at the hobby level). I know guys that don't blink an eye dropping a few grand on "consumables" for a weekend (tires, brakes, race fuel, etc.). They do shed a few tears when they put a $50-$100k race car into the tires/wall, but that's just the cost to play the game. It's all relative.

deer hunting. hiking the mountain trails. cycling is a means to an end, higher mountains on foot. however, I find myself thinking cycling thoughts pretty often. 65 next month, only been at this a short while but can see vast improvements in my conditioning. still pretty nervous and cautious on the bike, slow downhills and corners an such. Bike skills are coming back but slower than my legs.

youTube thinks this is 14 min long, but really it's only about 2:25 or so.

riding horses! This is Max (show name "Maximus") my 16 year old warmblood. We are jumping 2'6" in this pic. I didn't start riding until I was an adult, and I've only been doing it seriously for about 4 years so I'm happy with our progress! I purchased this pic but haven't received it yet, so I have permission to use. This guy has taken me all the way from just trotting over poles, then little tiny 6" jumps, to now we can canter around a course and do pretty well...when I don't get in his way
I have to say that cycling makes me happy because I don't have to spend a ton (comparatively) of money on it to be "competitive" - never going to need to spend "high 5 figures" (that is the way they word it in the horse sale ads) to be competitive in my age group on a bike

That's funny. I just found those two sites last night. We just got back from Italy, and for some reason caffe americano now tastes like crap.
I gotta say, all the bickering over grinders, tampers, semi-auto vs. manual, and crema just felt really familiar, thanks to my time on bf. Who'd have thought so much could be said about a freakinging cuppa coffee?
Or that the worst barista in the smallest coffe stand in the podunkiest little Italian town could pull a shot of espresso twice as good as the best I've had at Starbucks.
