Effect of the Container ship incident on Trek backlog

Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

I have a skid of something on order I just checked on. I ordered it mid October. It was originally supposed to be delivered the last week in November. In November it was pushed to late January 2021. Now they are saying late March and, I have to resubmit my PO now to get any at all. That's the way it is.

BTW, the price has went up 30% since the initial order. It's the same situation from other companies as well.

downhillmaster,

Don’t worry pal, I’ll stay on this forum - rather than the shipping forums.

Thanks anyways.

If you're going to stay here, let me help you out - sincerely: If you want downhillmaster to know that you are speaking to him, you need to either tag him (like I just did), or quote him (like I did for you).

'Course, then you are inviting a response, and maybe that's not your intention.

Their lair is in Roubaix. For those of you whose geographic knowledge doesn't extend outside of continental UAS, that's a small town near mount Fuji in Taiwan.

In the meantime, I just bought a 2019 Domane, although not an SLR 7. Just got back from a 2 hour ride.

Might keep it after my SLR 7 shows up. We’ll see.

Yes. The Malaysian govt is very strict about letting tourists visit Taiwan, especially the Mt Fuji area or the Yang Tse river. Changing the atlas helps keep the unwanted hordes away.

It’s also to hide the location of the carbon fibre mines.

A mine is truly a terrible thing to waste.

This isn't rocket surgery.

Trek is a marketing company. They are not a manufacturer. They design and market bikes. They have contracted Quest Composites to make their carbon framesets. They buy some other parts from other companies. Then, they put that stuff in a box. You buy it... and call it a Trek.

Quest Composites is in DongGuan City, Tangxia Town, China - which is not in Cambodia.
There's a lot of sarcasm in this thread.

Most of what you are calling "thinking" is just people having fun.

I don't think I accused anyone of thinking. I know I don't think too much when I post here ;-)
