Frame ID help? Cannondale or??
This bike came along with another 2 I bought today; it was kind of a throw in by the seller who wanted them all gone. They thought it might be a Cannondale, but weren’t sure. I’m not at all familiar with Cannondale; maybe someone here can help me out with ID?
It is an aluminum frame, but I can’t find a serial number on it anywhere. It looks to have been powder coated at some point( including the lower head race), and has a few distinctive design features that will help narrow down the maker.
I’ve included a few photos; most distinctive are the wishbone type seat stay/seattube arrangement and the web behind the bottom bracket that the shifter cable passes through. Cannondale, or??
Thanks for any thoughts you might have about this!

Based on the fork crown, I'd guess it's a Schwinn 564. Image from Google:
It would have had a seatpost with an expander bolt, I wonder if that seatpost clamp is an effective workaround?

That looks close! Rear dropouts look very similar to the Schwinn you posted. Components may or may not be original; mostly Shimano 600 (crank and brakes), Dura ace hubs (radial spoked front, rear 8 speed with non-drive side radial spoked)

That frame likely came with a quill seatpost. You might want to check any modifications that were done to accommodate the existing collar to hold the seat post.

The seat stays are the giveaway that it's an early aluminum Schwinn. The rear dropouts were...never elegant looking, but the font/graphics and colors rocked! And it's a Schwinn, so I'm still keen on them.
The bike would have come with a quill seatpost, but as we can see, someone has put a modern seatpost clamp and seatpost. A clamping mechanism is usually the solution to the cracked quill seatpost as the posts are now pretty rare. Unless you fab one up yourself, which has been done before.

There was a '91 Schwinn 354 for sale on CL, and while I didn't get it, I did learn something:
One model, in their last year, and they used a seat post clamp!

Nice stuff, even with the repaint I think it's a great find. Would love to get my hands on one of these, I like the look of the thick wishbone seatstay.

Me too. There is one locally that looks like one side was dragged thru gravel that I can get for $50. If decals weren't outrageously priced, I'd already have it
