Hoods for Dia Compe 160c levers

Found a pair of Dia Compe 160c Non aero levers. After clearing them, it appears that at some point, one of the hoods was replaced with a white version rather than the gum. As neither is in great shape, they need to be replaced. However, these are the ones with the big barrel adjusters. A photo from velobase.com is attached. Any suggestions on where I might find hoods? Or do I just get some of tbe Dia Compe / Cane Creeks that are easily found and give them xacto knife therapy until they work?

A similar problem on Universal brake levers with large barrel adjusters.

Looking forward to people’s replies. Affordable replacements or attractive hack.

Rustines in France shows a new product for Universal, haven’t seen it in USA stores and price+shipping from France is spendy for hoods.

edit: the hacks i’ve seen are not usually too great. Have a similar issue with a unique Zeus barrel adjuster/ hood.

Is it acceptable to wrap these hoods with h’bar wrap??? I prefer cloth, esp given the variety of colors. Wish I had a pic of a good example.

Could do the hb tape wrap. Also am looking at a product call surgru. Its a silcone rubber that air cures. Comes out of package as a putty, which I coukd roll out and form around the levers. Comes in 8 colors, so I could match the 80s neon on the bike. Only drawback is that its kind of hard to figure how much I might need. Surgru's website is a little short of info. Normally, I would just buy a bunch, but shelf life seems to be an issue.
Then again, I keep coming across beer cozies at garage sales. My sewing is not great, but I think I could cut and stitch the foam in cozies, and get something only a little ugly.

I'll say I've used both NOS DiaCompe and Cane Creek with Mirrycle mirrors- which the base looks to be as wide as those adjusters. Just had to take my time and massage it through.

Just got done installing Cane Creek 144.7 on DC 160C levers. Soaked them in hot water, slid them on from the back side of the levers. Had to resoak them to thread in the barrel adjusters. If there is a next time, I will check the hoods to see if there is any mold flashing in the area around the adjusters, as one is functioning fine, the other is sticking. But as I doubt I will ever use this feature.,
