Best supple/fast tries for 27" rims? (Paselas vs. Continental Grand Sport Race vs. ?)

Hi all,

Long time lurker, first time poster.
I have read many threads about 27" tire choices, but still have some questions.

My question is pretty simple: Out of the limited choices in 27" tires, what ones do you feel offer the best ride quality and are the fastest rolling? I don't really care about price, flat resistance, or longevity. Believe me, I know that there are many more choices in 700c tires, but I just don't have the money at this time to convert my Shogun Primo Sport to 700c rims.
Just for reference, I am a drinker of "Jan Heine's kool aid". His reasoning makes sense to me. If I could get the Compass Stampede Pass tires in 27" I would, but I can't. I am doing randonneur style rides, not loaded touring.
It seems like the regular Paselas (non TG) are the closest thing to what I'm looking for, but I just can't pull the trigger on them since the introduction of the Continental Grand Sport Race tires.
So it seems like the Conti Grand Sport Race has not been around for long (at least in 27"), but it does seem like it is a higher performance tire than anything Continental has offered before in this size. But how is the ride quality? Aren't Conti's known for being a stiff riding tire in general? I'm looking for supple, not stiff. Also, I have read that the Paselas run truer to size (1 1/4) than Conti's... is that true?

I'm leaning towards the Paselas, but am curious about the new Conti's. I just figured I'd ask for some advice before I pull the trigger. Thank you for your input!
