What Fenders Fit Specialized Crosstrail?

Bike noob disclaimer here.

I've owned my crosstrail for 4-5 years now and I wanted to put some real fenders on it. The wheels are 700 x 45c, the ones that it came with.

I tried to put on the SKS P50. I got the rear fender on, but the tire rubs up against the fender just ever so slightly. So I have a choice to change to a smaller tire and I think that one will be fine. I'm not against that since the tires are 4-5 years old and probably due for a change out.

But the front fender I didn't get a chance to dive into but it looks like I don't have a mounting hole for the right side of the fork, just on the left. So do I just use the left side and ignore the right? Or is there some kind of bracket that someone makes to accommodate the right fork?

Or is there a fender out there that is specifically made for this bike?

So I traveled down the rabbit hole and learned a bit.

First off, the SKS P50 will fit on this bike with 700x45 tires, but just barely. The clearance is millimeters and took a lot of time to get them just right. I feel that narrower tires it would have been easier.

I was able to attach the front fender with the addition of using a P-clip on the side of the fork that didn't have a mounting hole. I read on another forum that someone recommend it. You can buy it at a hardware store, I found it in the electrical aisle.

Here it is on my bike.
