Hey Detroit/SE Mich/NE Ohio/SW Ontario/Great Lakes, Come Race!

https://www.myspace.com/alleycatdetroit

It's pretty straightforward. Teams of 4 (we can form a team with you on it if you don't really have designs for one). You come, you race, you win/lose/draw, and let's get real: you knowww you wanna zip around downtown Detroit.
Also, free pizza at the magic stick afterwards.
And after-afterwards...who knows?

Lodging is do-able for out-of-towners to some extent, and tools/etc. are totally do-able for anyone.

SO C'MON, DO IT.

Also: I'm not in charge of the myspace page, but I am helping organize, so feel free to PM/post/myspace message/add friend/etc.

I'm a bit far away from there now, but I grew up in Toledo.

Hey,

Are you one of the back alley guys? I'm Kevin from Chicago that rides an old Masi pista and a red conversion. (I know Ron on the myspace page)

Anyway, not to hijack but to share more information, Jimmy of Ann Arbor is throwing another race this weekend.

next ann arbor alleycat. helmets and lights encouraged. you will need
a camera phone or digital camera. for those without, buddy up. the
format will allow for teams. the start will be a lock and lay, so
BRING YOUR LOCK! $1 entry to cover the cost of printing spokecards.
the dvd/cd's will all be tossed in a bag. at the end of the race
everyone will draw a random disc from the bag, taking home a mix of
new to you music. no one will leave empty handed. if you plan on
attending, an e mail confirmation is appreciated. this helps keep
printing costs down.

I've heard of this race (from Ron, in fact), and I suppose that I am one of the back alley folk, in the sense that I'm there every week multiple times to lend a hand; I don't have any actual privileges past "knowing how to help folks with bikes," however. I'm also fairly new to the joint (past 6 mos. or so), so I don't have all their crazy networking contacts, either.
BUT if you come to the race, it'll be one more face I know. =0p

Oh, and I'm Joey and I (generally) ride a white/red PX jack flash, but it changes.

Cool. I probably will be at the Detroit race. Not sure about the Ann Arbor one yet. I haven't been to Back Alley in ages unfortunately (school work) but I might try to make it out there on a monday night soon.
