Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

New ride

Built it yesterday after powdercoating. Put in the trainer last night for 45 minutes for final adjustments and shakedown. And today for it's maiden voyage, a nice 40 mile ride around the mountain.

Can you make the picture a little larger? I'm having a hard time seeing it.

Beautiful bike.

I dont usually like bikes in black if they have a bunch of decals. But yours hardly has any and really makes everything good about your bike stand out. I like it a lot.

What wheels and spec?

It's a disco bike... disco here, datgo dere.

It's basically built from a bunch of parts I had laying around. I recently got a great deal on a 2007 Dura Ace 10 sp gruppo, with this build in mind. The Aksiums (good eye!) were left over from last year, and the Ritchey bars, stem and seat post were left over from another bike. Some new Keo Carbon pedals round it out.

The frame is hand built 853. nice welds huh?

853 Reynold and Reynold carbon fork. Must be terrific to ride, absorbing all road bumps. You are really a bike mechanic to be able to well a bike frame. Congratulations!

I want an 853 or 953 frame to build up. That being said, I can't wait to start my build on my 531P frame
