And never saw anything more than the $125.00 models (gaspipe, Simplex Prestige, Racer brakes, cottered cranks). They were still gorgeous, and I always keep a lookout for one in my size.

Dear fellow Dutch bike connaisseurs!
I know, I know... a terrible quality pic (but it is the best of the batch

Picked it up only an hour ago. A neat RIH with Roval wheels, Weinmann aero brakes, Super Record and Turbo seat
After it was ritired from racing it was in use for touring purposes by an old man, hence the stem. Still the old man didn't appreciate the position on the bike, so that is why it went to me now.
I do have another Dutch bike. Something really different from everything else in this topic: A Rafty. Pure Dutch Cult (yes, with the capital C) in mountainbikes. Will take a view shots when I have polished it again. Quite a lot polishing going on with that bike.
I have several Koga-Miyatas too, but I personally view them as Japanese bike in the 1st place.

Another sharp looking RIH. Looks like you've got a Nuovo Record small ring on the crank. Interesting visual effect that the combination creates.

I'd replace my Gazelle with a nice Zieleman in my size in a heartbeat given the opportunity. I'd have to as my rule is One super record bike, one nuovo record and Corky is irreplaceable. The only way I'd break the rule is if I got a screamin' deal on some iconic 70s racing bike in my size.

what size do you need?
the above is a 53ctc which are harder to find. Large
frames are more common given the avg height of Dutch riders!

2) Nuovo Record with Simplex Retro Friciton shifters and Universal brakes.
3) Simplex equipped Dutch bike.
4) 1st Generation Super Record
5) Completely pantographed record group
6) Galli, Zeus, Ofmega, etc
you get the idea.
I'd like a RIH, chrome half stays and fork, like Marty's. I'd probably do something unique with the build. Maybe a mix of Simplex, Stronglight, some Campy or perhaps something else.

Here's my 86 Champion Mondial AA. I swapped the Campy 10 speed group over to it from the Italian bike. This is a Dutch Rocket.

My van Iseghem conversion. Lots of parts were missing so it would have been a big project to restore it. Also someone drilled two holes in the top tube so it'll stay converted to fixed.

As the saying goes - If its dutch it wont cost much.
Picked up the frame cheap of an internet auction, and it was dirty and a bit banged up. Frame number indicates early 70ies. I love the lugwork - so smooth and simple. The italian components, Campy nuovo record gear and brakes, were not cheap. The Brooks saddle I got of a friends "container-bike", and the hubs(normandie) and rims (mavic module 3) are from a gas-pipe Gitane my brother owned as a kid. Pedals to. Got Campy NR hubs waiting in the basement. It not perfect, yet, but it rolls. And what a smooth and sweet ride it is. Bustraan-bros knew what they were doing.

mine is a 74 (confirmed by Mr van der kaaij) If I read the serial numbers correctly I think yours is earlier than mine, my serial number is 809x (can't read it on photo's and don't recall it offhand). Mine doesn't have the '1' in the center of the lower head lug. If yours is earlier than mine (which I don't doubt) it was built by Willem Bustraan (the younger).
