Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Critical Mass Cyclists Attack Driver

Video shows a 'splinter group' of San Francisco cyclists attacking a driver - LA Times

It's people like these that cause grief for the rest of us. Disobeying multiple traffic laws, purposefully trying to cause conflict with drivers, assaulting them, etc.

Interestingly, this same topic is pretty tame so far in A&S, and it was started as early as Tuesday.

I'm thinking we'll send the special forces back to base, let the boy scouts handle this one.

The part that I find most comical about all of this is the driver is in a Zip Car.

Ahh, sorry, I didn't think to look in that section for some reason (I checked the few I normally read manually, I guess I'll just use the Search function next time ).

I don't usually comment on this, but these kind of rides never seem like a good idea (I've seen some in my city..)

Why would I use a gun when I'm sitting at the controls of a 3000lb weapon?

Well, a guy was recently arrested for running over some armed robbers. But with a gun I probably would shoot the idiot in the leg and call 911 saying I was attacked by a group of bike riders and feared for my life. Or like my sergeant used to say: "You should shoot up and if they don't stop you shoot them in the chest, but nothing prevents you from doing the other way around"

It is Cali so they frown on using tools that start with the letter G to defend yourself. But if you told the jury you were just trying to get away from some crazy people on 19th century modes of transportation it would go over better.

hey, I just noticed that the G word isn't filtered anymore. That's nice.
