I applaud all you guys. For me this has been a terrible month. I have been on the bike once 47 miles in total. This coming weekend I am booked and might not ride at all. With sunrise occurring after 6 AM, I have stopped my morning ride for safety's sake and with my daughter now going to school and being dropped off at 8 AM and getting to work at 8:30 AM, I am running out of daylight in the evenings.
How do you guys with regular day jobs do it? I applaud all of you. I am getting the desire to get back on the turbo trainer just to keep my fitness up. With the weather finally getting really nice, I am hating that decision but some form of riding is better than none.
keep up the good work everyone...

Loving the weather. Low 50s on the way is perfect arm/leg warmer weather, and low 80s on the way home is just perfect weather period.

Great day. Stopped for subs on the way home, was a tight fit getting 3 sandwiches, a tshirt, a balaclava, gloves, and arm and leg warmers into my little trunk bag, but well worth the end result

45 mile R/T commute today brings my mileage up to 250 for the month.
CX race last night, fourth one of the month. First couple laps was doing OK, but horsepower dropped mid-race and I drifted back in the pack. Looking forward to racing in Reno this weekend. Should be a good race and party atmosphere with live music and plenty of festivities.

Non omnino gravis
9/3 24.8 miles, 1,152ft^ Basic morning circuit ride.
9/4 10.5 miles, 390ft^ Refurb'd an early '80s Shimano Racing bike for my buddy's youngest son, took him around the neighborhood, thought he might die.
9/5 109.4 miles, 2,057ft^ My first imperial century.
9/7 30.7 miles, 1,453ft^ Basic morning circuit ride.
9/8 28.8-33ish, 1,568ft^ Paused the Garmin so it would stop beeping when I was buying water mid-ride, forgot to turn it back on, rode 4-5 miles before I noticed. :|
9/9 22.5 miles, 1,188ft^ Was on my 30 mile loop, gave up and came home when it hit 97º by 9:30am.
9/10 50.1 miles, 2,667ft^ Left home planning on 30, next thing I knew I was at 40, then said, hell, make in an even 50. Got home at 100º.
9/12 47.0 miles, 5,056ft^ Did not plan this at all. Was a little overcast so I went for it. Forest Falls campground and back. 2:20 to get up there, 1:00 to get back.
9/13 30.5 miles, 909ft^ A legit recovery ride, my legs were still rubbery from the day before.
9/14 27.5 miles, 1,161ft^ Basic morning circuit ride.
9/16 84.1 miles, 3,317ft^ Rained all day Tuesday, so I sat and thought, how far can I go? Unlike the century which had a break in the middle, I just rode and rode.
9/17 21.5 miles, 1,060ft^ Legs even more rubbery than after the Forest Falls climb. Good thing Friday is my normal off day.
Totals: 487.6miles, 21,952ft^
It's crazy for me to look at my totals now... those numbers would have been a good month in June or July. Now that's my progress for half a month. 487 miles on 12 rides? Inconceivable.

Today's roundtrip commute brings me up to 303 miles for the month.
Ran across this pic from CX race last week. Love the wheel-to-wheel action. I'm on the inside fighting to keep my position.

I'm way behind this month because of a bad cold. Then this morning I finally felt well enough to go out for a longer ride with some friends, get 5 miles into it and crashed. Continued on for a few miles but shifting was off and it hurt to climb so I dropped myself, went home to clean my road rash, then headed to the lbs for a new helmet and to have them deal with the bent hanger and big chainring. Ruined the only thermal tights I own, but at least they were cheap ones. Need to replace those quick, its getting chilly for early morning starts.
Should be over 400 miles right now. Made it about 10,000 miles before a real crash.
265.6/600 miles.

Racing in the "B" class for our local mid-week RodeoCross races. Raced in the C class in West Sacramento and same in Reno yesterday since both those races attracted a much bigger field and faster group of racers. Sacramento CX series starting up soon and not sure what class I'll race there. Maybe C in the morning to warm up, then B later in the day. Didn't make Fort Ord, but I've wanted to head over to the Central Coast and race there some time too, if I can fit it in between Sacramento CX Series and Sage Brush series in Reno.
Race in Reno yesterday was a blast. All the expected elements (barriers, sand, painful run-up, mild off-camber) along with an interesting "hay pit" and a radical flyover. My 21 y.o. daughter raced her first ever race there. Was one of the toughest courses I've raced and she tore it up like it was nothing. Her only error was a full face plant in the hay pit when she clipped the wood barrier going into the hay. Kid is tough, she got up and kept going. At the end she asked "when's the next race!"

With my first Metric coming up in 5 weeks, I need a minimum of 200 this month with a stretch to 250...
9/5: 24.23mi- 1:25:24@17.0mph. Very lonely group ride.
9/7: 52.00mi- 3:19:07@15.7mph. Shooting for 15+mph & first time over 50mi in a single ride!
9/13: 23.44mi- 1:24:43@16.6mph. Time limited, got what I could
9/19: 18.4mi- 1:12:14@15.3mph. Ran out of gas at mile 9... weird...
9/20: 26.03mi- 1:45:14@14.8mph. Need a better light. Farm roads at 0500 are pitch black.
MTD: 134.1mi/200+
