Thanks or the confirmation on the RD, at first the faded anodization on it wasn't clear, to these tired old eyes. Take the dating of the components and the bike's true age with a grain of salt. They can mean its model year, but those are easily swapped out as time progresses. With the mix of the RD and the FD you have some questions arising. Probably its a replacement FD, or maybe the bike maker just combined the parts from his stocks.

No matter, the real experts here can better date things than I am able to, I am in your place with not being one at all. I think you are on the right track with a late 70s time frame though. good luck with everything, oh and welcome to the Forum too.

That certainly could be true too, I'm going off the lack of portacatena holes ruling out the perod of '78-say '81 but that's just the first gate. Then there's the nutted brakes, single pair of WB bosses (tho that clue does cast some doubt) and clamp-on FD rather than a tab that makes be think it skews "earlier" rather than "later" but all this is my crude speculation. And there are more exceptions to these styleguides than strict adherence...especially in Italy!
Guessed right about the BB threading,so I'm taking a point for that

Careful paint removal may yield you an answer - in plain sight.

The remnants of the head tube sticker might be that of Rossignoli, which is still located at Corso Garibaldi 71 in Milan.

Please report back if you hear from them, just for future reference.

Couldn't find a good closeup of that style of decal; this is the best I could find:

This bike seems to have the same bottom bracket cable guides and lug cutouts as yours:

Thanks again you're very helpfull. I will report back if i hear something.

Thats a very nice bike! Probably the topmodel with a lot of ingraving. I think mine is one below. The decal is the same, but the fork is different.

Possible that the fork does signify a different model, but forks get changed out sometimes. If they take a hit and are bent then many owners will source another fork and throw in on. They don't look at the top tube and down tube for damage from the blow that bent the fork usually. Or they just figure its cosmetic and ride a damaged frame.

Glad that @MauriceMoss came through with an ID, now the real fun begins. Keep reporting as you work on that seat post please.

Patience is the most important ingredient with seatpost removal! Since this started out as a very nice bike, if it were me working on the seatpost, I would be trying absolutely everything, starting with the least drastic. With every try that fails, I'd give it a few days rest, do more research and thought, and try something else. Too good a frame to kill, even if it's too small for you!

I am impressed with the amount of detail required to identify a bike.

Here an update:

This week the seat post finally came out!

I've sandblasted it and now it's in the primer

Now the next problem, the decals. I can't find them. Does anyone have an idea where i can find them or someone who can make them?
Thanks

You might want to try Gus Salmon Decals. He hangs up his shingle on facebook.
