Notices
Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

The #1 rated glucosamine product is available at Walmart and cheap!

Might give it a shot but several years ago I took it for 6 months or so with no noticable effect. Might be snake oil.

As far as giving up refined carbs?

The cure is worse than the disease.

About $2,300 for Force level rim brake version, if you don't need calipers. Add $150 for brake calipers.

I don't have enough wheelsets to go around, so they get moved to whichever bikes are currently active. I took the blue Trek out this afternoon. It has a Vittoria Open Pavé on the rear and an Ultrasport ll on the front. When I got home and cleaned up, I ordered another pair of those babies. The Open Pavés, of course.

Meh. Getting old is just giving up one thing after another, anyway. Food-like products are easy.

Coffee science question: I have a burr grinder and the static charge it puts on the coffee makes it fly out of the little receptacle, stick to the housing of the grinder, and get all over the counter. However, I have recently discovered that if I set it one tick finer than the usual grind I used for the drip machine at home, no charge. When I grind it coarse for the French press on the boat, I don’t think it’s that that sticky either, but it’s been a few weeks and I’m not sure.

Anyway, why does a small change in grind make such a difference?

Yesterday was the group's end of year ride. Someone busted out a bottle of Jäge at one of the stops along the way. So gross, but I took a pull for the group, anyway.

You are looking at $2500 for Force, 3500 for Red. Roughly. And it effects everything, wheels, bottom bracket,...well, not the headset. But that's groupo, still need to get wheels for the disk brakes.
Now, I didn't pay that, I shopped around on EBay and got lucky. I should be all in under $3500.
I got tangled up with a post mount (disk brakes) frame. That caused me a little trouble. I ended up buying a set of Red post mount calipers. No one makes adapters! There isn't enough room on the frame apparently. There is one co. But New old calipers was just easier. I
Then the wonderful folks at Sram decided we needed another bottom bracket standard. So now we can all try and figure out Dubb. The new axle is 28.9mms dia. Basterds. I sti ok working on that one.

You have found that the finer grind is the secret to better drip coffee. Embrace your blessings and be happy, grasshopper.
