Anyway, they were an appreciative audience, young and cute to boot.
Week before we had a couple of locals in to get bikes who are performers in one of the fire juggling groups. 
I think this might be my favorite month at the bike co-op.
There is a certain satisfaction in sending a Huffy or a Roadmaster off to the Black Rock Desert.

Just home from that second day surgery. The bit that came out was somewhat bigger than expected, but still benign, which was good.
However, I am not entirely out of the woods yet, as it had interfered with the blood supply for the organ is was attached to. So I could still lose that little bit of my body -- think of what "ringing" does to make bulls into steers or rams in wethers, and you're on the right track to understanding what I am talking about.
Still, one way or the other, it will improve my riding comfort and that's important to me.
I am feeling quite good considering it was a full-on general anaesthetic. The anaesthnetist was a bicycle rider and we had several conversations about that -- he has a 2003 Scott road bike to which he has just gone from 23C to 28C tyres for commuting, plus a few other adjustments to make it more comfortable. See, it's guys like him who are "quiet enthusiasts" who go about riding without great fanfare but have a real clue as to what they are doing.
My last memory of him was discussing Dumoulin, Chavez, Froome and the Vuelta leadership, and who our favourite Grand Tour racers were...

Oh yeah, I also have to wear a pair of tight-fitting padded bike shorts for a couple of days. They provide the required support so pulling stitches can be avoided. But I am also off the bikes for a fortnight. I am not sure how that's going to pan out, with Machka talking about taking her Bike Friday to ride solo on a weekend holiday trip we are doing this weekend. Hmmm... that temptations is going to be very difficult to resist.

Thanks! It should go well. I get the dressing taken off the forehead tomorrow, and that is starting to feel normal after six days from surgery. So I am hoping things hustle along with the downstairs healing, too.

...I did seven Mart bike MASH unit fixes on Saturday for folks arriving from Switzerland, Haiti, Canada and Australia. Pulled them out of the stuff we usually donate to the homeless bike project, but we hold off for the few weeks leading up to Burning Man, because we'll get at least 30-40 people looking for the cheapest rolling wheels they can find.
