Wish I had one to contribute, alas, I’ll just have to live vicariously through others.
I was about to correct you on your use of an apostrophe, but seeing as Somec is a portmanteau combining Societa and Mechanica, you probably just get away with it as a contraction...just.

The chromovelato ones are to die for. Yours is beautiful, but they are a step beyond, imo.

Back when it was a bike:
Fun Fact: the previous two pics were taken on 21 August 2017, the date of the last solar eclipse. They were both shot during the initial phase of eclipse.
When cat stickers covered up the numerous small paint chips:
Out with the Old and in with the New: frame/fork/HS/BB/gear levers 4-Sale - whenever I get around to listing, that is
Sorry for so many pics of the same bike, but how many Somecs are on the Forum anyhow? Not many, that's for sure

Elite SX with a Gazelle fork, which I took off my LBS' hands. The 74xx group that was on it went to another project, and as the frame was too small for me it went on to live with another forum member.

I don't have one, but a Mario Martini painted Somec is definitely on my list of bikes to have before I die.

This was a restoration I did a few years ago. It was in an awful state when I found it, so it was fully stripped and new chrome applied on stays and fork. Paint and decals were done by me, so don't look too close. I miss this one, it was great riding bike - although the C Record rear mechanical wasn't that great.

Sorry for the poor photos.
It's actually a Titan. But, I'm taking partial credit for the Somec fork.

Do you happen to have any closer pictures of that bike? Its still a puzzle how tje pre-80s followed each other in terms of the decals and pantos. As your is one of ghe first ones would be nice to see some details if you have anything to share.

It was a EBay frame. It came dark blue, (not a quality repaint), and when I stripped/blasted it, I found traces of a light blue. That's probably the original color. I always wanted a pink bike, but ended up going with the candy you see now.
The Mavic SSC derailleurs shift better than Campy SR from the same era.

Anyway that is a nice color. Where did you get the decals, if I might ask? These older plain ones are seemingly impossible to find at every remaker. Most only make the pixel stuff, and also those who do older, are limited to the "Adidas" but nothing earlier. I've found 1 ebay seller, but they have surely never seen an original sticker.

I wanted to buy a pair from France, as they popped up in their classifieds in the same time with a lo pro Vitus Carbone (for which these were original) frame for peanuts (Mavic FD+RD= EUR80, frame EUR90) but I guess others thought the same as I as they were gone together in a split second. They are really nice but usually at horrible price. Even the Mavic Zap costs the half when one pops up here in Germany.
