Getting ready for my club ride. I am hoping we can continue our small group rides for now. We may have to eventually go out in 1 minute intervals like an ITT.

Pie is not a thing here. Sad!!. Except at Costco. I don't believe the panic buying has come this far East yet, but Costco on the weekend is a no no for us already. "Lets take the kids and mill around in Costco. Visit in large groups, blocking aisles and intersections of aisles. And act huffy if anyone actually wants to shop".

A couple weeks ago I held a blind bourbon taste test to see which of five varieties I liked the best. The winner was a surprise. I’m thinking a couple more rounds of testing are in order to establish reliability of the findings.

Even Bulleit's bourbon has too much rye in the mash bill for me - not a big fan of the rye taste and it seems to give me a headache for some reason.

It's supposed to get to ~30° by lunch time, so I might wait until then, though I have historically had a hard time gearing up for a ride after 10am or so - once I'm in to the flow of the day, it feels like I'm killing momentum by stopping, kitting up, riding, showering, etc. I guess I'll see how stir-crazy I get and make a game-time decision.

Vain, But Lacking Talent
Things continue to get even stranger for me. Sister in law had some flu-like symptoms and tested negative for flu. Her husband traveled to Germany for work early this month, so the immediate response is to test for covid19 and sit tight until results come back on friggin' Tuesday. But here's the thing: we were with them last weekend. Their daughter had been sick (kind of a common theme at get togethers) and then our daughter has been having cold symptoms and now our boy is coughing like mad. No fevers, but apparently kids can get it and have no fever. We initially thought our girl was having allergy issues.
So I was supposed to travel to Houston which is its own hotbed of covid19, but now I feel like it would be irresponsible to even go into the office Monday. Had to call my two bosses Friday afternoon while driving back from Nashville and explain the situation.
The big problem is that the Tuesday job in Houston has been months in the making. I need to do some on site work to assist with permanent install of some of our devices. Now I feel like my only option is to ship the stuff overnight and just do a video call with them. I don't feel kosher asking someone to travel to Houston right now. I was already feeling a little nervous about it myself.

A local fancy liquor store has regular tastings - I always find myself rushing in to pick up a quick four/six-pack when one is going on and I haven't had the time to stop and sip. I really should look up their schedule and take advantage of that some time.

For the zombie apocalypse, I did buy a Costco bottle of blended scotch. I would never have bought it otherwise, but it was cheap and probably effective in fighting off the zombies.

Supposedly. I still haven't brought myself to buy and try. I think that, for me, it's almost like Chinese carbon - yeah, it's prolly pretty good, but you don't know the provenance and you don't that it's not going to change by the next time you're in the market.
