Bikes and riders arriving
The Atelier is nearly full of tour ready bikes. People flying in have landed @Spaghetti Legs and Andrew Horsfall from the CR list, the Bay Area Boys @davester and his buddy Thor made the long drive up, @VRJAKE is hosting some, I'm hosting the others. Bob Freeman will be driving down early in the morning.

@nlerner, @northbend, @Jeff Wills, we would have paid a king’s ransom for a cold brew at the top of The Wall. Most of us have done Cino and Eroica Cali, and agreed it’s a harder climb than any they have, including Cypress and 9 Mile.
We made up for it by ending the ride at the local Pelican Brewery.

Day 1 was a hard day in the saddle. Lots of thick, soupy gravel. The crew handled it well.amongst the group, about 250 miles of gravel and only one flat.

Yes there was a pretty sharp crown but fortunately the gravel wasn’t too bad on either side. Whenever I ended up on the left side, I got back on the right side as soon as I could as there was a pretty steep drop down to the river off the left side of the road.

Being a working stiff who burned through most of his vacation earlier in the year, I've had to miss most of this one, though I did drive out to the coast to join the group for a dinner at the Palozzo del Mar on Wednesday. Today I skipped work and hopped a train to Albany and rode over to meet the cavalieri in Corvalis. Though not part of the Rectangle proper, here are a few pics from the day.

Day 4 quick notes
All good things must end, I suppose, so some pics from our 2 day stay at the Palazzo del Mar:
A note, we now have a sag wagon. I pre-positioned my pickup st the palazzo, we’ll take turns doing sag duty. This allowed us to shed extra kit and evening wear from our bike bags.
But a new adventure awaits. Day 4 we rode south along the coast in glorious weather, sunny in tje 60’s. Destination, a larger town on th Oregon coast.

Here are a few pictures from Day 6.
Outside of Salem we picked up a nice trail system that leads into the city.
Just outside downtown Salem figuring out how to get to our lunch spot.
Lunch at Venti's (the panorama software made some interesting choices here).
The McMinnville Inn has the largest parking lot to building size ratio I can remember seeing.
