Samo's cyclofishing adventure
Hello folks!
Greetings from Malaysia! Samo would like to share his awesome cyclofishing adventure.. Here are some highlights in pictures.. Enjoy!
Carbo-loading at home before the ride..
Our curious pooch, crated so that we could back our car out of the house..
Hitting the road on a one and a-half hour's drive to our cycling location..
Arrival at the little town where we are setting up for the ride..
Selfie time!
Local coffee to fire up the day..
Fried noodles too!!

Riding out on the country road..
The terrain's pretty flat in these neck of the woods..
Crossing a new bridge linking to a farmhouse where our buddy resides..
The old bridge was wiped out during the late monsoon..
Development has reached the farm where part of the road was paved.. This enables crops to be shipped ahead of time..
The ride gets bumpier..
It's fun taking our full-suspension bikes on trails like these..

Our host Ah Pan and his valued Dahon Flo Mountain bike..
Mrs Samo gives the Flo a try..
Riding out to our fishing spot..
Mrs Samo's ultralight spinning reel rig. The rod is telescopic and can be packed into her backpack for transport..
Trying our luck..
The bikes in the wild..
Samo's ride..

Samo's trusty rig: A Daiwa Caldia KIX 2000 spinning reel..
A market-size tilapia (Tilapia Mossambica) which is deemed as a widely accepted source of food..
Mrs Samo hard at work...
A nice hook-up!
Removing the hook..
Fighting the fish..
A juvenile Grass Carp, these can grow up to 10kgs (22lbs)
Time to roll out.. The fishes were caught and released..

Hanging out with Ah Pan before heading back to town..
Leaving the farmhouse..
Samo's cockpit view of the trail..
Moving along on the dry track..
At a set of giant waterpipes..
The raw water transfer signboard..
A suspension bridge crossing..
It's getting muddy!
Very, very muddy!
The tires were covered with mud! What great fun!

Onto a dry path and into the town area..
After a good workout, we were rewarded to a nice lunch by Farmer Wong and Ah Pan..
Wantan soup..
Blanched Chinese lettuce..
Giant River Prawn noodles!
Awesome is the best word to describe this lunch treat!
Curious locals checking out the bikes..
Or maybe it's quite dirty..
After a good lunch, its time to pack up and hit the road..

Wonderful adventure! Where I live you could ride your fat bike and do some ice fishing. 9lb walleye don't get released!(32F below zero) Your dog would like it too. https://www.up200.org
