Yes to the Indian bikes, not sure about the Chinese. The replacement tubes I bought for my Raleigh Roadster were made in India.

Again, not terribly useful if you don't happen to be near a gas station nor with low pressure air systems.

And which ones would those be? The Giyo pump? The Beto Double Headed pump? The Schwinn Telescoping pump? The Zefal Air Profil pump? The Bell Airstrike? Or, perhaps, the Bell Telescopic? All 6 a capable of pumping up either valve and all 6 are available at Walmart for less than $30. Many of them are available for less than $10. I didn't see "lots of pumps on for sale that do NOT have any way to pump up a Presta valved tube." In fact, Walmart doesn't list a single pump that doesn't pump up both types of valves.

Dunlop valves were standard in the UK for a long time on everything but out-and-out road bikes. One still sees plenty of them on old bikes that are still in use.

I think this is something that needs to be eradicated like the smallpox, same with the English unit. it makes no sense to have to buy the same damn tools twice, now does it?

Sorry! (my mistake! I thought the OP was referring to a presta-valved tube!)

Agree, get rid of the Presta valve.

In New Zealand those valves where standard on al bikes 20 years ago. When I first me a presta valce a few years back I was mystified as to how it worked. As to which is beyter, presta
valves can get bent out of shape too easily for my taste.

Even better would be to prohibit bike pumps from having any way to pump up the devious "French" valve. That might put an end to the fancy pants roadies' wicked plans to dominate the realm of "serious" cycling.

As a kid in UK I used to ride my bike to go fishing. I always found that the rubber tubing for a Woods/Dunlop valve that came with my patch kit was useful to attach a fishing float to the line!

I have a topeak floor pump that came with a Dunlop adapter:

https://www.topeak.com/products/Pumps/trk_bl03

I do seem to be able to pump it up without the adapter but the adapter does give a bit more secure fit.

My Workcycles Transport bike came with Dunlop valves. When the front tube got cut somehow, I replaced it with a tube with a Schraeder valve, which fit the rim just fine. So far the back tire hasn't punctured. A good thing too, because getting that back wheel off is no joke!

Yep!

The Dunlop/Woods valve combines the worst features of Presta and Schraeder with the best features of neither.

Dump it.
