Dare to be Dockless.

OFO might have survived with a campaign like that.

Dock network would be required, however, to dispense disposable yellow Tyvek jumpsuits and helmets made from three concentric red cylinders.

They'll just fall from the sky upon unlocking the bike.

Better quality kid trailers have aluminum tube frames and weigh 20-30 lb depending whether they are single or double, with or without leaf springs. Steel ones from the department store weigh more. This thing looks about as big as a single and has no tent. so weight seems plausible to me. The reversible handle / tow bar looks clever.

@52telecaster, I was thinking that's a long vehicle, with the trailer and the bikes trailing behind. Then I remembered, I drive a long vehicle, too. This is a kiddie trailer with the top and sides removed. This was an errand day. The area near our house is hilly, and when we got home, I couldn't understand why I was so tired. Then I realized I had been pedaling a lot of weight. I do more pedaling than my wife does, so it's a big burden.

I can see the all-round usability of the trailer, but I wouldn't mind giving up a few teeth for a heavy-duty front-basket cargo bike...

CRUST makes exactly what you desire, as long as you're not opposed to modern aesthetics.

"clydesdale" fork. 1" and 1.125" compatibile.

it takes some finess to get it around corners and some grunt to get up hills. 2 bike share bikes and the trailer are about 100lbs. I will say cars give me all kinds of room.

Didn't know if you were going full-dive on the "cargo bike" mentality; my apologies. If you're really interested, I know two guys in Boston who make these for whatever frame you want. Last summer I saw them offering rides on one of their frames that had a sofa bolted down to the cargo platform.

Hey, no worries. Though I will say that I've never quite been on board with the Schwinn Cycle Truck-based design though, in comparison to the low CG design of the European/Dutch/Danish/whoever-invented-them cargo bike.

Granted, the Cycle Truck format is still a damn sight more intelligent than that Clydesdale Cargo Fork abomination, which fails to do the one thing the Cycle Truck does: Keep the weight in one place, on the frame - something they got right on the Sladda, coincidentally. Just because that fork makes a cargo bike possible on any number of normal bike frames doesn't necessarily make it a good idea - and at that near-$300 price, it's an expensive kludge, no less.

Speaking of which, Tthere's an old CIC cargo bike on the local OfferUp, but it makes the same mistake as that cargo fork: The weight is on the rotating portion of the bike:
https://offerup.com/item/detail/501962998/

That said, I'd rather want to find a purpose-built machine that's been brought over from Europe rather than have an existing frame modded by a framebuilder. Used and crusty is often more fun, as is the wait for whatever shows up at the right price. It'd probably wind up being the single most expensive rig I've ever sunk money into at one go, so I'm perfectly content to kick back and let the right one happen by chance...even though I'd like that chance to come soon

-Kurt

Why do you feel cargo doesn't belong on a fork? It can work well.

Lately, the cargo bike I admire the most is the Bullit. I see folks riding those in the city, and I love it.
