If people had just STFU'd about doping in pro cycling, we could have had a big investor willing to name it "Lance World". This is why we can't have nice things.

You might have something there. Richmond with Lance World is right between Kings Dominion and Busch Garden in Williamsburg. It would be the theme park center of the world.

I'm sure there are a few people who'd consider making Velo City their vacation destination, but I don't see how anyone could expect to NOT lose their shirt investing in such a big resort aimed at so few. Personally, I think it would be more interesting to improve and expand the amenities at existing velodromes, or incorporate new velodromes in suburban sports parks.
