1953 Rotrax Super Course

Hi there, wondering roughly what a 1953 Rotrax Super Course might be worth. All components original except brake levers(70's or 80's Modolo), seat post (brand new), and Brooks Saddle B15. This was a bike given to me when a lot of love was needed. I had the bike fixed up, rode it, and it's just not something I need in my collection. I'd rather someone that's been looking for a bike like that to enjoy it instead.

Thanks!

That would be/will be really cool to see. We must have photos! Plus photos will really really help with the value.

That's a great idea except I also cannot view PMs until I post 10 times. Guess I'm going to go through some other posts quick and make some comments

I - think - you can view a PM from a member, you just can't respond. Let me know if you can't see what I sent.

As a newb I can only post 5 comments a day and cannot view PM's or post images until I reach 10 comments. I did post the images to Imgur so if you do a search there you should find it. And once I get to the 10 comments, likely by the end of today, I'll add the images to this post.

The components cry out for rust removal and polish. That could be a sensational bike. I admit I don't know sale price but it's pretty!!!

Very nice old bike, it's a beauty. I am unsure of the value but notice the seatpost looks like a modern Kalloy unit, I'm sure a lot nicer than what would have been original, most likely a basic non integrated clamp unit

Full nickel plate and some of the nicest lugs I have seen great looking everyting includings parts can be cleaned up easy to get it looking close to new. As for value I woul;d put put it around $1200 plus shipping.. Chances of selling it for full value locally are close to none yet there is a good chance someone here on the forums would buy this bike for $1000 or so and help with arranging to get it shiipped.

I have seen a couple of Rotrax's in the wild and they are beautifully made. In my humble opinion on the same level as a Hetchens. The Op's with some TLC could be a showpiece. Wish it was mine. A $1000 wouldn't be out of the question.

Can we see a pic of the seatstays?

IMHO the workmanship of the Rotrax is well above a Hetchins.
the steel Cinelli stem adds alot to the value. I would install some
GB brake levers and a standard steel seatpost and ask $1500
